Hi all,
Just wanted to post my recent purchase of a 22’ Civic Sport Touring (CVT) in Platinum White Pearl.

I have owned quite a few Hondas over the past 12 years or so. Most I still have. Del Sol/CRX/18’ Type R/s2000.

This particular car was meant to replace a 2015 Honda Fit EX (6spd-man)as my daily driver. I sort of pushed myself to buy the CVT automatic as out of all these vehicles I do not have one single automatic transmission.

So far I am very pleased with this car. The comfort, the amenities and the practicality.
I even like the way the cvt is programmed. It does a decent job disguising itself as a traditional automatic under most normal or even WOT driving. I have no issues there. Just hoping that in the long run I don’t experience any issues with it. Again, I am used to owning manuals where I am never concerned about the transmissions longevity.

I brought this home this past Wednesday and immediately went to town prepping it for a ceramic coating (very into polishing/detailing world). The entire car was lightly polished to finesse any dealership swirl marks/scratches (you would be suprised sometimes just how many little marks are in the paint, brand new!)
The whole car was done using Carpro Cquartz UK followed by a 2nd coat of Cquartz Sic.
I even took the time now to remove one wheel at a time and coat the wheel faces and barrels, also ceramic coating just about any painted surface of suspension components and inner wheel whell/fenders.

I hope to be active on the 11th gen civic forum page to see how these cars fare over the next few years. As of now there are no plans for this car other than some splash guards and floor mats. I just want to maintain and enjoy the best I can!
Thanks for reading,
Dan

Looks absolutely stunning. I'm in between Boost Blue and this white pearl for mine. I have 8-9 months before the 2022 civic is available in the UK. So plenty of time to think about it.

I'm going for same spec (but will be 1.5 hybrid models due to emission requirements).

I plan to either nano coat it or if I can afford it PPF the front to entire car in clear PPF.

I did originally want Sonic Grey Pearl but this really came down to who was going to give me the best deal

welcome and enjoy, that pearl white is super nice. if you don't mind me asking what did you use for pad/polish on this car? I assume the clear is super soft.

I used a white (ultra fine) rupes pad with Carpro Essence. Low/minimal cut prepping the surface for ceramic.
owning a few other Honda products and having detailed quite a few more, I think this paint is not quite as “soft” as people have spoken of. I would imagine any finishing polish or polish with a light cut will finish down to a perfect gloss just fine and not leave any holograms/buffer trails or hazing.

Thanks for the info! I’ll give it a go with the yellow Rupes pads I have and some perfect finish to see how it goes. The dealership guys washed it even though I told them not to when I bought it so they swirled the paint on day 1.

I asked my salesman not to wash it and he said don’t worry, they hand wash it. It was ultra swirly immediately.

Sounds about right from all dealerships

I thought I was the only one taking the wheels off and coating any painted surface and suspension. I also demand the dealer not wash the cars I have gotten on delivery. Some cars on delivery have been extremely dirty but at least if I wash there will not be any swirl marks or scratches.
