We cannot help but be excited about 27WON Performance's latest release, the Kuro+ turbocharger for the 2.0T platform. Building off of the success of their original turbocharger, the Kuro+ sacrifices a small amount of the lighting quick spool the Kuro is known for in exchange for BIG potential up top. We have found that the Kuro+ offers a very potent balance of quick spool and high peak output. This turbo has been a lot of fun!

Any numbers for ~91 and 93?
edit: assuming the typical supporting mods, like hondata fuel system (regular), front pipe, downpipe.

We did complete a quick session of 93 octane tuning so that a "back up" option is in place for when ethanol is not readily available. Results were as follows:

This should roughly be achievable even with the factory fuel system, it would require pushing the factory fuel system pretty hard.

I agree, I have seen depending on the commanded AFR that the limit seems to be around 410-430whp for the stock fuel system depending how hard you are pushing it.

One thing from my testing that has also shown an improvement is that the fuel system gains a bit of head room down low due to the slower spool. Giving time for the camshaft and the hpfp to start working in the intended range for power pulls.

Very good job guys, I’m impressed.

If you are literally just driving the Dragon I think the standard Kuro would win out, you are going to appreciate the quickest spool possible. Head out to the Cherohala and the Kuro+ would shine.

With more dyno time could you lessen the torque drop in the upper revs on pump gas?

The flatness of the curve on ethanol is ridiculous, reminds me of the s65.

The Kuro+ seems to be an impressive options for drop-in turbos and at awesome price point (cheaper than MHI2). 575 is insane but will it last on a stock short block???! thanks!

Well remember also that the MHI comes with a brand new wastegate. That part alone is worth some $$.

I was planning on getting the kuro+ however I can't really picture that anything over 500 is really usable on fwd street car. Guys are talking about breaking traction and stock turbo.
