I’m looking to upgrade exhaust, and the Apexi N1 is at the top of my short list. I’m looking for a modest increase in sound, good tone, good quality and the least amount of drone possible (preferably none). For those that have this exhaust, can you give some insight on what it’s like living with? I’ve heard there is a small amount of drone between 3-4k. Is this accurate? If so, on a scale of 1-5, how bad would you rate the drone?

There is drone between 3k to 4k RPM but that's about it. It will feel loud as hell when you first install it compared to the stock exhaust but you'll get used to it quickly. You can still have conversations in the phone through the car speakers

The drone from around 3k-4k is different based on engine mode and how the throttle is applied. Is it loud? Yes. Can it be annoying at times? Yes.

Recently I had a TSP downpipe put in. It’s changed the note of the drone a bit. It’s lower in tone but the drone is still there. Also more noticeable since my wife commented on the increase noise.

I’m enjoying the exhaust for the time being but I see a quieter exhaust on my car in another year.

I am waiting to hear the Amuse R1 titan in person. Also the Mugen and Spoon exhausts will be considered. Hopefully I will get to see these and hear them in person in 2025.

Basically a system with 2 resonators and/or with valve control.

I'm going to be the odd man out here and tell you my Apexi N1 has no drone. But my AWE Touring did. Now, the Apexi DOES have noticeable exhaust notes above 3k rpm when on the highway, but it's not drone. It's just exhaust noise and putting the car into comfort mode makes it livable for me.

Whereas my AWE Touring had actual drone that vibrated your head at 3k rpms and was unlivable.

You really need to hear it and if better get to drive it from in the cabin.

There’s one in the For sale section at a good price. Try it.

We experience a lot of exhausts and sell a lot of exhausts. I am running the Apexi with no front pipe on my FL5. To me, it has the slightest drone. Doesn't bother me, but I noticed it one day on a 250 mile road trip going uphill.

Apexi is our best selling exhaust, we have them in stock. Can't beat the quality and it looks great in person.

I have the RV6 Front pipe and a TSP downpipe with a R660AS. In case the turbo makes a difference audibly, not sure as I never ran this exhaust with the stock turbo.
