Can 3-seat rear bench from Civic hatchback be fitted to FL5?

The FL5 is amazing, but one of the things that really baffles me is why Honda insists on putting only a two-seat bench in the CTR.

I'm interested in an FL5 mainly for its practicality as far as specialty cars go, so does anyone know if a standard 3-seat bench and center seat belt from a Civic hatchback can be retrofitted to the FL5?

I don't see why not.

I remember people saying that car insurances might start bitching about it in case of an accident in that FK8 thread. They have a valid point.

Given how illogical our insurances are. I would not do it.
They have an excellent excuse to dismiss a claim.

If you overload your vehicle, that is illegal. I would hate to imagine what would happen if an insurance agency wanted to fight things.

Thankfully people have the choice of other sports compacts like the Elantra N, Kona N, Golf R, and Corolla GR with a 3 seater in the back.

But doesn't make any sense why Honda did it.

Thanks! I suppose it could be done if you really want to. Though I just noticed that there are no charging points at the rear. A pity, especially for such an expensive car. Surely a couple of USB ports wouldn't weigh anything lol

I installed these on my 2021 FK8. I will zonk the lack of USB-C ports though.
Maybe there is a rear USB port accessory available that can be installed in the FL5 too?

I'm going to be honest but those seats look out of place now compared to the original seat arrangement.
