I want to share some pictures and thoughts on this product from CarbonSixthElement.

You can find the product on their website here:

I ordered the product on October 29th and received it on December 4th. Overall I feel that they did a good job on weaving the carbon fibers, but the top left side of the epoxy resin arrived with significant scratches. I contacted their sales team and was advised that I should be able to buff out those light scratches with some rubbing compound.

It would have been nice of them to credit or refund me a little bit to cover the cost of the rubbing compound to resolve this issue.

This is my third aftermarket carbon fiber center console that I have tried and it is by far the best one I have received. I have not installed it yet, because I haven't decided if i'm 100% satisfied with the quality. You can see a few weave imperfections on the last picture.

I tried two other center console overalls and detailed my experience with both of them here:

TLDR:
- The JSWAN center console was OK, but I wanted the red weave
- The EPR center console was absolute garbage and I had to fight for several days to receive a refund

What are your thoughts on this product?

Should I return this one and just get the genuine OEM one for an extra few hundred dollars?

Imo, you should expect to get new unscratched parts when u paid full price.
Weak from the customerservice, if they dont come back to you with solid offer.

I'm not a fan of black/red cf parts.
Most important thing is that u r happy with it 🤟

Make sure it fully covers the areas by the buttons. I’ve seen aftermarket examples where the fit was bad and some of the underlying aluminum is still visible (making it look cheap). Personally, I like the much more subtle red weave on the OEM part versus any aftermarket part I’ve seen, plus the fit and finish is worth the extra cost (to me). If you like the brighter red, roll with it.

This is just a stick on? kinda the opposite of what buying CF parts is all about

It’s just an interior esthetic piece. It’s not gonna shave more than a few ounces in weight even if they went through the complexity and cost of making the entire thing out of CF throughout. Sometimes simpler is truly better.

Here’s mine from Axis. The console weave is very consistent, covers all the aluminum, has even surfaces and well defined shapes. It kind of looks negative mold formed. Carbon 6th looks vacuum bagged. Here’s a pic of it before installation. Decent thickness too so it isn’t casually flexible.

The OEM part is stick on too 😅 I was really stoked to get one but after I've seen installation videos I'm having second guesses

It's an overlay, not a "stick on". Not all that uncommon especially for trim pieces.

@getGroyped you're still messing around with these low rent replicas? This product looks awful. The red weave looks too contrived. Your time and your money, but it seems like it's time to buy OEM and put this to bed.

I know exactly what it is. I would rather have a replacement than an "overlay"

You know majority if not all carbon interior pieces are strictly for aesthetics? No bit of performance is obtained from such pieces. And guess what? Those said carbon pieces sometimes are overlays right out of the factory.

For example my G80 M3, I opted every option including the carbon fiber interior package. The center console door is an overlay. Just like the stock interior piece, the plastic was an overlay over the plastic frame.

With your mindset I'm thinking a Koenigsegg or Pagani would only be worthy for your consideration.
