Like the title says. I'm looking for options for my FL5 clutch. I'm leaning towards the ACT 6 puck kit, but I'm interested in any feedback people have. DRob at IMW recommended the Exedy Stage 1 but I've never used Exedy on non-stock power levels before.

For reference, car currently makes 570whp and 456ft-lb torque. So I doubt this stock clutch is long for this world.

The Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Comb should hold what you can throw at it unless you are trying to bring in 400ftlbs around 3000rpm:p DRob has quite a bit of experience and I would trust his recommendation

@Mobias which clutch did you end up going with? I need to replace mine and would appreciate your feedback.

I haven't installed it yet but I'm going with the ACT 6 puck sprung disc. Along with their pressure plate and flywheel. Hoping to do the install in the next month or 2.

I recommend the Xclutch Stage 1, rated at 450ft/lbs, I know at least 2 cars that make greater torque than that and have been participating at the Mexico speedway on it for a couple years.

They feel like stock after break-in, zero noise. They're a great option

I'd trust DRob for sure, he has more experience with FK8/Fl5 clutches than anyone else I'd imagine.

After much deliberation, I replaced the clutch today with the Exedy Stage 1 as multiple people recommended. We'll see how it holds up because the stock one was definitely slipping. I could see the signs on the pressure plate when I pulled it.

Car is still under the knife for more upgrades, so I haven't driven it yet to give feedback on the overall feeling or driveability. But most people have said it feels like stock.

Nice! Be sure to let us know what you think once you get it on the road. 👍

So I have gone on a few drives so far and really the stage 1 feels like stock to me. I don't notice any extra pedal effort. If there is any, it's so minor that I can't tell.

Engagement feels like stock and as far as I can tell it's not slipping anymore. I'm not beating on the car or even doing high rpm pulls. Trying to let the clutch bed properly for a few hundred miles.

I'll try to post back with more updates as I get more time on the clutch and try it out in high rpm and higher load.

I went with the ACT clutch through 2 Step and have the same experience thus far.

I think the ACT is still a solid choice. I have used ACT on every high HP car I have owned, except this one. Never had any issues with them. Hopefully I don't end up regretting my decision this time.

How long did the oem clutch last and at what tq did it start to slip 🤔

Well I had just under 4000 miles on the car with the stock clutch. And I currently make 456ft-lbs of torque. And I've been at that power level for 2500 miles. The clutch still had life left but you could see on the pressure plate it was starting to slip. While I could have kept driving on it, I knew it was only a matter of time before I found myself stranded.

This is good to know. I'm trying to limit tq to 425 on oem clutch. I know I'm going to replace probably after summer. Think I'm doing wavetrac diff at the same time.
