Wondering if folks have found any good options or approaches to getting a bit more info out of the OBD2 port - my cheap bluetooth reader only gets some basic engine PIDs - nothing in the way of brake pressure, rom the g-sensors, etc...

Anyone found a way to extract the useful track-related info out of the stock ECU? Or do you do addon/calculated for things like applied brake pressure, G loads, etc?

Many autox guys use Solostorm app + OBDLinkMx+ + GPS receiver + Camera.

I personally use Solostorm app + OBDLinkMx+ VBoxSport GPS receiver + GoPro10.

Using above, videos between runs include
Video
GPS position
Throttle position
RPM
Speedometer
G sensor load

To get brake, I think a more sophisticated apparatus is needed.

So, I normally would assume as much, but the fact that they have the electronic dash set up with those inputs makes me assume it's both being monitored with sensors in place, and being sent across one of the non-standard OBD2 bus's. Just not sure if those are accessible without turning into a full reverse engineer.

OBDLinkMx
Thanks for that, I've been using a random OBD2 reader that runs on regular bluetooth. Just only gets real basic stuff, mostly straight TPS/RPM/Speed info.

I picked up the racebox micro, gonna get a printed case to power from a LiPo battery, and a dashcam that I sync manually with trackaddict

Has anyone figured out what canbus signals are going to the OEM Adaptive Sound Control box? 2nd Gen BRZ/GR86 users are able to get canbus rpm, steering angle, brake pressure, throttle, etc from the harness going into their adaptive sound module. I wonder if the CTR's unit provides similar output.

To get brake pressure and steering position you will need something that can read CAN data, since those aren't outputted to OBDII normally. If you can read CAN data it doesn't really matter what module you read it from. If you have a way reading it from OBDII port you can just do that..

I didn't realize that the 11th gen lost access to the CAN that ktuner had in the 10th - that's a bummer. To the drawing board again, thanks @RacingManiac
