I originally had my door locking set so I could lock it by touching the door handle, but then thought the auto locking feature sounded better. I set it for auto locking and it works better for me ... but only when it actually works.

The problem is; I'll close the door and it hesitates and then gives me several beeps, meaning that there is an issue. So I'll re-close the door and sometimes it will then lock, but more often it will give the fast beeps again and not lock. So I'll slam the door fairly hard and then it seems to lock. This happens about 50% of the time, the other times it will lock as it should. :what:

I wonder if there is a bad sensor in the door that causes the refusing to lock? It's frustrating. Does anyone else have this problem??

The three beeps don’t necessarily mean something wrong…for me that only happens when I walk near the back of the car right after closing the door. But the car then locks by itself.

Well, what I'm talking about is a series of beeps like several and it means there is a problem and it's not going to lock. Usually one nearly immediate beep means it's on it's way to locking and then there is a single confirmation beep within several seconds confirming the car is locked. That's the way it should work.

my only issue with auto lock, it locks the gas cap when i get out to fill up lol

I fillup at costco, so the car has to be shut off and if i forget the hit the gas door, i have to out everything back go get in the car and cycle the power again. Thinking about it, i also hated how it locks so fast, like it should be like your phone that knows when you are home and wont auto lock as quickly. I am forever forgetting shit in the car, so walk into the garage, realize the car is locked, i cuss myself out and walk back in to grab my keys, 90% of the time i get distracted and will walk right back into the garage to complete the cycle over again lol

I enabled the auto-door locking feature when I first got the car and have experienced no issues. Check to see if something is interfering with the locking mechanism on each door. If nothing is apparent, a trip to the dealer is in order. Since you're experiencing this often you should be able to easily replicate the problem for the them.

I leave the driver door cracked open when I'm getting gas so it won't auto lock on me before I open the gas door.

and those are the reasons why I am here haha.

My wifes subaru ascent doesnt even open unless the car is off, so it was unexpected the 1st time it happened and confused me for sure. If you have ever gotten gas from costco, there is no time to be looking dumb once you make it to the pump, but at $3.21/gl for 93 octane, I will run the risk of lookong dumb
