Wow - I wasn't even aware our 2012 had a Remote Start function! - NOT!l
Leads me to wonder if this is more UK blather.
"Honey, where do we keep the aluminum foil?"

That is some serious flaw... basically anyone with those radio tools can unlock and remote start the car.. Not even a tinfoil/aluminum bag is going to protect it because old codes will still work to unlock the car.

Looks like Honda has already denied that this issue even exists.

There has been tech for this for years and it's on all cars with keyless access. There's a video from a few years ago of some car thieves using the radio tool to grab the key signal from inside a person's house to unlock and drive off with a Mercedes parked in their driveway and those vehicles also have rolling codes.
