So for starters, this is for RESEARCH purposes only and NO I’m not gonna rock a red Type-R engine cover on my 2.0 n/a sport. But fact is, if you wondered, you can!👍🏻

Working for Honda allows me the ability to try dumb things 🤣🤣 so here ya go!

The 2.0 sport guys, it’s the same 4 oem bolts that you have on your car now. You can keep it red, custom paint it, wrap it, etc.

You have the option now lol
Wondering how?

Many are unaware that the K20C1 (type-R) and the K20C2 (LX, Sport) have the exact same black valve cover from the factory. Same part number. So it stands to reason, the ancillary will carry over as well.

I ordered a couple of them since they’re on backorder and take weeks/months sometimes! So I MAY possibly 🤷🏻‍♂️ paint mine to match boost blue where the red part is. Still debating. And I have another new one for sale over on the 10th side if anyone is looking to do this quicker than waiting a month lol

Looks nice, our valvecovers are ugly, that's why I painted the Honda logo and added the Earth Dreams plate, just to get some colour on the cover. Boost blue would look really nice if you did that. Good research work. To bad they don't fit the 1.5 l motor

I think boost blue would look sweet with your car, I like the red too, but with you car the blue would match nicely.

After 145k on my 2.0NA 6MT, I've developed a fondness for this motor. The original cover with Earth Dream logo is too meaningful to change.

Pretty similar block to the CTR if I recall correctly, cam, fuel injector, oil pump, and a few other items change but I'm pretty sure the blocks are the same between the two. The NA 2.0L has some potential but we'll see what happens with it, the 1.5T has a lot of flexibility, and that might delay some of those upgrades. Honestly, a custom cover does sound like a good idea, get some color and change it up a bit.

Still have that other cover available? Lol... I could probably do a matched white with that forged carbon wrap I like to use.

Probably. Lower on my list, stereo and then on to the performance side of things, and at that point then I'll get a cover for it.

ok 👍🏻

I ordered a few more today since it could help the next guy get one quicker…instead of dealing with inflated eBay prices from ”japan” or parts backorder lists ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s official!! I did it first! (I think)🤣
I took an INSANELY meticulous amount of precision with taping everything off, to not ruin this new part, to look “factory”…etc.
And I’m NOT a painter!🤦🏻‍♂️
So it’s not 100% perfect, but I’m REALLY shocked with the results. 1 of 1 😎💙

PS: I forgot to mention that this is actually legit boost blue paint from touchupdirect.com
