So basically confirming the death of a CTR. Got it. Thanks.

why? Hybrid Type R would make the the car better, faster and more translate to Honda hybrid F1 program like AMG is doing with C63. I for one welcome a hybrid R.
Faster and better are two completely separate things though. The C63 is a perfect example of that. For years AMG meant the sexiest sounding V8s on Earth, but the new one is a hyper-complicated turbo four with electric motor assist. Sure it may be faster but I gurantee you people will miss the old V8s.

I'm sure Honda will do a great job with a future hybrid Type R, and I'm sure it will be faster, but will it be as fun and exciting to drive? Maybe, but I'm not very optimistic. More electrification means more weight and more layers of digital interference between you and the car.

Unfortunately, I think we will look back on the current era as the last golden age of fun-to-drive automobiles.

with how quiet the car is stock.....and the pumped in fake engine noise...sounds like they are just preparing everyone for it. The hype will still be real, we get it everyone is a combustion engine purist.

Governments can mandate we all fly in spaceships by 2035, it doesn’t mean it’s reality. EV costs will likely skyrocket at the same time governments are no longer able to print endless money to keep subsidizing the EV changeover. This could make them change their regarded regulations.

Hybrid means heavier and less agile CTR. The hybrid solution killed the NSX!

NSX was just a badly engineered car. Noone says Mclaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918 was worse because it was hybrid and those were just the first gen of the performance hybrid era.

Is a non turbo hybrid still possible?
I'd love the old manic 8200 rpm 4 cylinder supplemented with electric torque..

Porsche looks like they’re headed that direction with the new 911 GTS. Looks like they are maybe eventually doing a common 3.6 NA for the lower trims and downsizing the Turbo back to 3.6L as well.
