FL5 11th Gen Civic Type R with Rays Engineering Volk TE37 18x9.5 +45 5x120 with a 265/35/18 tire. It looks like our TE37SL in 18x9.5 +45 5x120 will be a perfect fit and will boast concave face while maintaining adequate brake clearance on the new Type R.

We thought we'd start the official wheel fitment thread for the new FL5 11th Gen Civic Type R.

This will be a place for discussion of OEM and (more importantly) aftermarket wheel fitments, since we are certain that there will be plenty of you that are (eagerly) looking to modify your FL5 11th Gen Civic Type R. We are no exception and cannot wait for our car to show up so we can quickly begin offering fitments for the community that you all have come to love from our FK8 10th Gen Civic Type R days!

We will discuss wheel diameter, width, offsets, tire sizes, and the such! Feel free to share your findings, and of course photos!

First-off, what do we think of the latest leak of the FL5 11th Gen Type R? Do you prefer the FK8 10th Gen more?

We have some leftover SLs that may work from our final #systemspec run (OG Mold), and TE37 Saga S-Plus + Saga SL in very aggressive 18x10~18x11 sizes!

Not necessarily; a handful of Japanese cars are already going with larger PCDs I.e 5x120 for larger brakes. We would not be surprised to see these follow suit with 5x120 PCD - only time will tell.

Update guys - 8/31/2022.

TE37 18x9.5 +45 5x120 has been test-fitted, and confirmed to fit the new FL5 11th Gen Civic Type R. Shown is with 265/35/18 at OEM height. Our TE37SL in 18x9.5 +45 5x120 (product listing here) will boast a concave face and will serve as a bolt-on affair for this platform - with plenty of factory Brembo brake clearance (factory brakes are 4-piston 350mm fronts). Next up - time to test fit some 18x10's and 18x10.5's and potentially 18x11's!

Downsizing from the conventional factory 19's to 18x9.5 wheels with a +~45 offset will prove advantageous for those who are looking to increase ride quality, reduce unsprung mass, and increase overall driving dynamic. Going to 18's will allow one to also run better compounds on the street / track. The OE tires are 265/30 on a 19x9.5, and very much like the previous generation, the sidewall is a bit thin on the factory tires. Going down to an 18x9.5 +~45 will enable one to run a 265/35, 275/35, or even a 265/40 tire for improved ride quality. IF one is looking to fill the wheel gap more, we recommend going with a 265/40 on an 18x9.5.
