Hey everyone!

Currently had my Civic Si for almost a month now and reaching 1000 soon (600 currently). Was wondering if any of you change your oil at 1,000 to start "fresh" after the break-in period? Is it worth it? Is it not worth it?

Thanks!

Change oil when MM indicates, especially on the original oil. It will trigger at 15%, I'd wait until at least 25% before you change it.

I changed the oil at 1,500 miles for motul 0w 20 using the OEM oil filter, the car feels more smoother and quieter.

Like most said and what’s stated from Honda professionals, don’t change original oil until maintenance minder tells you to.

Follow the maintenance minder for best results, as others have said. It won't hurt to do the first oil change early, but wait until at least 5k for proper break-in.

Where in current literature does Honda recommend keeping the factory oil for as long as possible? I remember that was a thing 10 years ago where they mentioned extra moly in the factory oil, but I don't see that for the 11th gen.
