Take the WRX as an example. Since they've offered the CVT option, there's still a 90% take rate on manuals.
Sorry, had to chuckle at "CVT" lol. Would be interesting to see take rates between auto/manual with cars like the GTI, Golf R, and Veloster N though

This article is from a couple years back, but the info is still good I'm sure. There's also a link in there that points to Miata figures (75/25 softop manual/auto, 52/49 for the RF, and only 1/3 of Toyota 86 buyers took a manual). A quick additional reference, 78% of BRZs were sold with a manual. Interesting division by brand

They sell every type r they make for $10k over MSRP and this was before shortages. If they made more then they would sell them. Not sure the CTR would be less rare with an auto. They might even find themselves in a situation where they have auto CTRs they have a hard time selling and have to go *gasp* below MSRP. Si with an expensive auto would probably push it out of the class and the CVT can't handle the power that the enthusiast that purchased it wants it to make. And this is why we have the integra, it fills a void.

Honda as removed it's DTC from the market ,that's why the new Integra is CVT or 6 Speed only,Acura doesn't make a 8 speed DTC anymore

so only manual for the R ....
