I'm going to paint my valve cover tomorrow and was wondering if you guys could inspect my prep work. I bought an OEM cover and so far I have lightly sanded all surfaces, blown all the dust away, wiped down with alcohol, and taped off the areas I believe need taping. I found some M6 screws to protect the exposed threads. Can you guys tell me if this looks ready to go or did I miss something?

Do you have a Part number for the valve cover? How did it come out?

What colour are you going with? I'd like to do the red crinkle style like the older gen K20 engines at some point.

Curious to see how it turns out.

My only thought is that this area might get a bit filled with paint and make a less secure connection if you get any heavy spray in the area but when I look at other painted covers that area is also painted so maybe not a big deal.

Looks good. I'd suggest backing out the screws a bit so there is a slight gap between the bottom of the screw head and top of the valve cover. You may want to also consider taping the clip tab to the left of the HONDA lettering as can be seen in the following Spoon Valve Cover PIC:
