Anyone else notice that the vent fan seems to slow as you speed up? I've been dealing with this for over a year now and Honda service keeps telling me they can't duplicate, even though I've sent video of the exact thing happening. Just got an anemometer and I noticed a 1 mph decrease in air speed from the vents per 20 mph. I'm so sick of it I'm going to try and replace the fan to see if that fixes the issue.

I've definitely noticed the same thing, let me know how it goes!

Fan didn't do anything. Tried the transistor and I can't really tell if it made a difference. I need to get my borescope cam up in the inlet and see if there is something blocking.

The transistor replacement seems to have made a bit of difference. But I still notice a bit of slowing.

So I think anyone who has this issue has something blocking the intake tract. I ulled the cabin filter and left the filter door off last night and drove around that way. Guess what, no drop off. Put my camera in the filter area to look at the air intake area. There is some kind of pad directly above the hole. Don't know if it's the dash airbag hanging down or what. The outside air intake hole seemed to be good, but if I moved that pad around then suddenly the fan would blow harder. I have to talk to the shop foreman where I work to see if he knows what it could be as he says there are a lot of Integra owners that report the same issue.

So far I have found that the intake door for recirc air is not, and probably has never been, connected to the motor arm. There is a pad between the air box and the underside of the dash that seems to also block intake air from inside the cabin. If you close the recirc door and open the main one for outside air, the issue with air speed from the vents still persists, but if you prop the cabin inlet open when you turn off recirc then the vent air speed seems to stay constant, whether you have it in recirc or not.

I want Honda to start paying me for researching fixes for their mistakes. 🤑 This is seeming like a QC issue when I am told by the Acura shop foreman that multiple people have complained about the same issue on new Integra's.

Also, if you notice that air gets extremely slow when you turn on recirc instead of staying the same or speeding up, then you have the door disconnect issue that I am talking about.

So the Acura foreman and I just found out the door that actuates behind the glove box is controlled by the fan control and it is not connected to the motor that is supposed to open and close it. Good times.

Took car in to see what they think and they have to replace the whole fan/heater box. Had to order it so I have to go back tomorrow. Fun fun.

Thanks for keeping everyone posted. Haven’t noticed the issue on my FL5, but definitely checked it to be sure.
