I have had two people try to connect the TSP high efficiency down-pipe to the AWE front-pipe and they have both experienced these two issues:

1. There is a gap between the downpipe and the frontpipe

2. Even if the frontpipe/downpipe could connect, it seems that there isn’t enough clearance for the frontpipe because the oil pan is in the way. The installer is insisting that even if we disconnected the frontpipe from the rest of the exhaust.

I’ve attached some pictures from the installer to better illustrate the issue. I have burned through hundreds of dollars trying to get this to work, so any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated here.

Damn! I wish I could help here. I was considering that DP to go with my Invidia exhaust. I wonder why it doesn't mate?

Here’s another photo of the frontpipe hitting the oil pan.

Did you have the exhaust on with the stock DP?
Yes, the AWE frontpipe was able to meet with the stock downpipe. I’m thinking that I should reach out to TSP and ask for their downpipe dimensions to ensure that my downpipe isn’t a lemon.

It should definitely work then unless the DP is wrong.

I assume you've tried backing out that turbo to downpipe exhaust bolt a tad bit, and connecting the frontpipe first?

I found that keeping the connection loose at the turbo (thread in the bolt a little less than halfway) then connecting the frontpipe to downpipe goes smoother. From there you can add the brackets (loosely) then connect to the turbo. However, if it's hitting the oil pan, that's not ideal.

I'm not trying to point fingers here or cause additional frustration, but I'm really thinking this is an install issue. We haven't changed the jig, so any variance would be shocking.

Once you've tried this method, and if it still does not line up, please email us so we can work on getting it inspected.

Thank you for your input, I don’t know if the installers had tried this and I suspect that you’re correct. I will be trying the installation myself to see if I can get it attached.

Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Currently have TSP’s high efficiency Downpipe paired with AWE’s catback exhaust system, perfect fitment in my situation with no issues. Did the install of both the DP and Exhaust myself (Downpipe first, then Exhaust). TSP’s customer service is very helpful in the event that you’re unable to resolve the problem.

Just received my TSP downpipe. Installed myself, fit perfect with AWE Touring exhaust. No issues. Replaced bolts and nuts with the titanium ones. Spray Krill oil worked great for stock bolt removal.
