Quick update, couple of weeks in and still rattle free after messing around with the actuator and spring. Maybe reseating the spring and tightening everything down helped since I'm still on the original spring. I have the hyundai one as a backup so if the rattle comes back I'll try the new...
Is the reset procedure just cycling on/off the ignition (no engine start)? When I put in the Hyundai spring I didn't do that and just started up the car so that may be where I went wrong. When I swapped back to the original spring I did cycle the car on/off first before starting which probably...
So I didn't do a reset or calibration the first time when I installed the Hyundai spring and that may have been partly why I was having issues. I did install it with the valve closed and from what It looked like with the actuator in the right position though but couldn't get the valve to open...
Got everything working again but ended up putting the original spring back in. Not sure what the problem was when I replaced with the Hynudai spring but the valve definitely was not opening up at all. Not sure if the spring wasn't sitting correctly on the valve mechanism or if the actuator was...
Quick update, I noticed that my valve is not opening when it should now and is basically closed shut. I'm going to open it back up tomorrow morning to check if the spring didn't catch correctly on the valve to allow for it to open. I tried pushing it open manually and having someone rev the car...
Just installed the new spring on my exhaust and so far no rattle. I used the same Hyundai spring and only cost me $10. I also bough a pair of exhaust hanger pliers as well to make removal of the rubber things on the exhaust easier.
So only after 1 day the rattle on the valve came back after lubing it. I'll try one more time with the grease to see if I can make it stay away for longer but looks like the spring is the real fix.
I just put my fuse back in and sprayed some lube onto the hinges as well and can confirm that I don't have the rattle during cold start. Hopefully this lasts at least a month and I'll just go in and lube it up again if it comes back. Short term fix but wasn't too much trouble.
Let me know if you end of changing out the spring. From what I can see on the exhaust you would have to take it off the hangers to access the actuator on the topside of the middle exhaust. Curious how much work that would be or if you can access it without having to take things apart.
I'm running the Cobb rear motor mount but I noticed the rattle before and after I installed the mount so I'm pretty sure it's the spring. Mine only happens more during the cold start phase when the engine is at a higher rpm. Not sure if its rattling while I'm driving but it might be and maybe I...
I've got the same rattle and am also running the dual delete. From what I researched its the valve spring that compresses and doesn't put enough pressure on the valve plate so it rattles during certain RPMs. We should be able to replace or modify the spring to get rid of the rattle but in the...
I've got the Cobb RMM as well. My experience is very similar to others. After the break in I don't notice an increase in NVH anymore. Car feels more connected especially when shifting 1st-2nd-3rd. Easy to install, just make sure to have a rubber mallet handy to push it into place.
I've got the full Alcantara Carismo one but don't know how the PRL wheel compares. From my experience, the Carismo one has a decent thickness in the areas where you grip the wheel the most especially in the 3 and 6 o'clock positions. Keep in mind that the Carismo one is not as round as a normal...
Noticed the same spot of oil on my car when I was under there a couple of months ago as well. I plan on taking another look and seeing if the leak is still there soon. Didn't look like a lot of oil so figured it was just a very small leak.
