Looking forward to my 2nd outing to Homestead Feb 28th, should be a good time. This summer I had a chance to visit the Nurburgring which was amazing and a totally different experience compared to a track like Homestead. I had a blast there but am also looking forward to a track that I can push...
Not that I can tell and I A) live in Miami and B) run it. Didn't notice it during a track day either but I only take it out to Homestead in cool weather (will be there Feb 28th).
I plan on tossing the foam filter once it's dirty, that should be well before it breaks down - looks fine still, I think I have what 10k miles on it? I definitely remember the old days ;)
Don't make the mistake I did - I had a flat yesterday and used the OEM pump to put enough air in it to limp the nearest tire place. What I did not know is that the OEM pump has a setting to push tire slime into the tire :( What a fucking mess. Only noticed the knob to change settings afterwards.
I didn't baffle the fronts and my installer didn't end up using them in the rear either. If you are going to do it I'd probably just cut them in half and just cover the top and not worry too much about it, stock there isn't anything so I guess Honda figures it'll be fine for a few years at least :D
No issue, it’s what it is designed for. I have the bass turned up a few clicks, more than that and it’s overwhelming (from a SQ POV, it’s still a 8” driver so only has so much depth and performance).
Use the link actingbusy posted above and scroll a good way down and you’ll see two different sets of 2ohm speakers. I would opt for the less expensive ES as, with stock power and DSP, I doubt you’d see much difference for the extra $ on the model up.
Have no fear of refurbished, I have bought...
No. Ran super low offset wheels with R compounds for years on my Miata with no issue and so do a lot of folks. Would I run them on a car with known bearing issues, no, but that isn’t something most modern cars have to worry about. High offset can introduce positive or negative handling...
I stand by my posts - 2ohm front doors, 4ohm front tweeter, 1ohm sub replacement are where you get the most for your buck. I really should do some sound deadening in the doors, been a while but I think I only did the trunk and sub area.
@actingbusy Any idea on what ohm the ELS stuff is? I...
Not me, not the R but... got a call from the Subaru dealership and it turns out my wife's attempt to turn her 3mo old BRZ into a boat was unsuccessful and we can add another FA24 to the graveyard. Fortunately, insurance is in play. Not sure yet if they are going to repair or what.
Cleaned my rear door drains! We've had a lot of heavy rain and minor driveway flooding, I guess enough crap gut in there to block the drains that I had standing water in the rear doors. Easy fix, glad I caught it before the water sat long.
That's the one I've considered off & on. Might have...
100% it's worth doing. Ditto the tweeters (I acknowledge these may be a pain to install). Those are the biggest bang for your buck, depending on choices you should expect to spend ~$150-250.
Next steps after would be door speakers & tweeters then I'd go with the 1ohm cheapo sub driver...
