cruising throttle % doesn't change when pressing in clutch and it’s normally low enough to shift gears without noticing during normal shifts. But hold the clutch long enough it revs the same as holding the gas pedal at a stop at same %. The alert is just reminding you to finish changing gears.

cant confirm if the si ecu communicates selected gear via can bus. It might. only one way to find out.

the earlier you do this the better; remove a nut, apply anti seize to threads, retorque, move on to next nut. it will save you in the long run.
