Happened to a friend of mine. Like I said I have personally seen it. Is the risk high, probably not. But there is a risk. Asymmetrical paint wear / fading is absolutely legitimate unless you do a full wrap.
Absolutely. Just like ppf there are pros and cons to ceramic coating. It’s right for some people. Wrong for others. Go into those purchases knowing what you are getting and giving.
No
My response is not over exaggerated or fear driven. Read the manufacturer’s information and the installers. I agree that you absolutely get what you pay for. The installer is every bit, if not more important than the material. 3m advertises a 10 year lifespan on the film. While not...
If you are long term keeping the vehicle PPF can also become a liability. The adhesives and the vinyl break down over time. Average life expectancy is 5-10 years. When it fails it can seriously damage your existing paint.
For me, the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze. Obviously spend your...
Unpopular opinion: I don't believe in PPF. This is a production car, drive it. Have fun. Will it get rock chips, yup. Does it matter, nope. You are spending a lot of money to invest in the next persons purchase. There is no return on investment on ppf, and most people expect rock chips and...
This will not damage your clutch. You are fine. Even if you made the clutch smell a little its fine. After you started driving, did you notice anything funny? If not, its fine. Did you likely wear the clutch a tiny bit, well if you smelled something probably. Damage is extremely unlikely...
I went by the dealership to see about ordering some new tape, or to just ppf it. There is not a part number for the tape. I did get the part number for a new front air dam, and they are $26 whole dollars to replace. Not even worth putting PPF on it. My guess is, since it looked so terrible...
I found a stip of thick plastic film on my air dam. It looked terrible with all sorts of debris behind it / partially peeling etc. I assume this is just a shipping material that wasn't removed during PDI. However it was really thick, so I am not sure. I just want to make sure that is the...
I installed the accord mirror. Pretty easy to do. It was a bit loose so I synched it down by bending the clips. Pretty stable now. A very tiny bit of vibration at cold idle. No biggy. Once u detest it doesn’t vibrate.
I would not give this a first or second thought. Cars get moved under power at the factory and on/offloading the shipping trucks, PDI, etc. these are all brief runs. Break in the engine and move on. These motors are super reliable. Don’t stress over the small stuff it will take the joy away.
Just finished my install. Took about an hour and a half. I also installed the mirror tap for my radar detector / camera.
First attempt when I tilted the mirror down it popped off. I then bent all of the retaining pins in a bit. Reinstalled and it was much much sturdier. I don’t see it...
No way! I happen to have that very one sitting in a drawer! Do you happen to remember if you required the nylon bushing or not? I do not have those anymore, but they are only $5.
