Soon you'll be able to see and order xi gen parts on these sites too.
I use motul rbf700, Ti shims and good pads and I have found the rbf to be good for at least a year and multiple track days. I wouldn't go past that. I also always test it for air and moisture when bedding in new pads and before track days. These brembo calipers are not the best for bleeding...
The VSA oversteer assist will come to your "rescue" on any oversteer condition above a certain threshold. If you change the handling characteristics of the car (eg sway bars or tire pressures) and still leave VSA on, you'll see some gains in handling but will definitely burn through rear pads...
Only the facelift fk8 (20+) has the same brakes as the fl5. It all depends on who's doing the review and you might see a 'much better brakes' comment. So your previous comment was partially correct =)
I use a GoPro wrist strap in the seat opening of my fk8. It works like a charm.

That's interesting. The facelift fk8 has a softer comfort mode than 17-19 MYs.
The real problem of comfort mode in the fk8 is the light steering. In bumpy tracks you actually want a softer suspension. The fk8 record run in nürburgring was in comfort mode btw.
Last week I went to a honda dealer to see a FL5 on display. It hasn't been released in the country yet, so it's still using the red camouflage. These are pictures from the spare tire with a nice foam kit. It's better than the kit I have in my fk8.
Yes, this is important. The fk8 has fuel starvation issues once you hit the half tank mark. I went into limp mode this week on the track because of this. Every 10 or so laps I need to stop to refuel. I hope they have it fixed for the fl5.
I'm writing about the FK8, but I expect the FL5 to be close given the similarities. Once the maintenance manual is leaked we'll have more information.
You indeed need to do the pedal dance (VSA maintenance mode) to turn off all assists in Sport and Comfort mode. The downside is that you lose...
On civicx there are threads listing naughty and nice dealers with 1000 pages combined. I've read countless posts there. It was interesting reading many many people with strong opinions on ADMs that never again posted on the forum. Others that were set on a minimum markup that later had to pay a...
The general rule actually is: vented hood, larger grill (pre-facelift fk8 at least), racing radiator and oil coolers. Acuity's radiator hoses is not really significant. And that is for the overheating problem only, just to stop you from getting into limp mode. It still pulls power in stock tune...
Did you know that lap record was run in Comfort mode? That was not the FK8 highly tuned chassis in +R mode doing its thing. That was Sabine. She was that great running that ring.
To beat that time, the FL5 needs not only to be better than the FK8, the pilot needs to be faster than her.... and...
A common complaint about the fk8 is that it shows you OilT but there's no sensor, it's calculated. Once people move to a heavier oil that number loses meaning. I hope the FL5 temp is a direct measure.
Alleviated, yes. All improvements add up and give you some track time before overheating. High...
Vented hoods were never remotely enough to stop fk8s from overheating. Honda indeed took some steps to improve that. We already knew, from the Si and camo pictures, that they moved the engine backwards, made more room for the hot zone near the turbo, changed the turbo manufacturer (supposedly...
