So I installed the RV6 catted downpipe about a month ago and it's paired to an AWE Touring exhaust. It has performed great with no check engine lights....until today.
On my way home from work, my car went into limp mode and I figured it was the downpipe. Checked the code and it's a P1039...
I got a somewhat early wave (February) so I paid 10k markup. Wasn't ideal and still not super thrilled about paying so much for a Honda Civic. I knew beforehand and still know that it will never really be that fast, specifically in a straight line, so when the random Mustang owner on the...
There's some clips of my exhaust @8:34 (RV6 Downpipe, AWE Touring) for those who were wanting to hear it lol. I've been trying to get a legit video filmed with some flybys but haven't had any luck.
I PPF'd: Front bumper, hood, side skirts, front doors, mirrors, rear bumper, spoiler.
I did the fender vent mesh mod so I the amount of debris that I kick up towards the rear doors should be minimal. With almost 6k miles, my rear doors seem to be blemish free (knock on wood).
If it's anything like the RV6 downpipe, it will burble but doesn't really pop. It sort of sounds like the ITS but deeper/louder and without the pops.
Definitely sounds better than Milltek, at least the non-resonated.
I was busy last weekend and couldn't find the time. If I could film it myself I would do it later today but unfortunately I need a second person to film, so it will have to be this weekend.
So I lowered the car yesterday and put on Spoon rigid collars. I’m getting a pretty loud rattle when I go over bumps. You think it’s the camber arms? What did you torque them to?
Installed Spoon springs, Spoon rigid collars, Eibach rear camber kit, and RV6 downpipe today. Good lord the downpipe is so loud with my AWE Touring exhaust...Probably increased the sound by at least 10db. Definitely be careful putting this thing on if you care about a modest sound.
I'll work...
I'll have a buddy record next week after I get my downpipe put on. Until then, all I have is my iphone without any sort of mount so the only thing I could record is a cold start.
I'll try to get something recorded next week though.
Me and a buddy (mostly him) installed it with just a jack and jack stands. It wasn't too bad, save for the 90+ degree weather. Took a couple hours. Some of the nuts were hard to get off but he had an air compressor and an impact gun so it wasn't bad. The exhaust comes with instructions so...
Drop in filter, PRL stage 1 intake, and I’ve seen a couple short ram intakes. That’s essentially all the PRL high volume intake is. A short ram intake with a less restrictive airbox than stock.
Installed the AWE Touring exhaust. Such a massive difference and no longer sounding like a vacuum cleaner.
I'll be installing the RV6 downpipe in a couple weeks. Hopefully it doesn't get too obnoxiously loud.
