Did the Spoons with rear rake not also have black insulators? Saw the pic here so was wondering.
Looking at the updated pic above, the insulators do seem thicker as you mentioned, and perhaps a more matte color.
As stated above, Blackstone does not use GC so if fuel dilution is a concern, which for OP it seems to be, then I'd recommend using NAPA, Polaris or Amsoil. I used Amsoil and got my results in a week.
OEM oil, as in what the dealer put in or still on factory fill?
Recent M1 UOA post on BITOG here. Fairly early OCI and oil seems to have sheared down a bit.
Mostly city, very short trips, with some highway on weekends. I could be wrong, but feel like my MPG went down a bit after changing to 5w-30.
On ff (0w20) was consistently getting around 26mpg.
after first oil change to 5w30, 25mpg (tho seems to keep going down by .1)
Or it’s the occasional...
I posted my ff UOA results here. At over 2k miles, oil sheared down a bit. No track time. There’s also a link to my post on BITOG, where some VOAs can be found for the Honda 2.0
I’ve been experiencing similar, start the car and it can take a minute+ before the infotainment boots up, I just get a black screen. I’d say it occurs about 20% of the time.
Based on a VOA provided on BITOG, 7.99
I had read NoVII was better for engines that are prone to fuel dilution. Can't seem to find the source, but if I do I'll share.
Reason I wanted to share the results, just to try and contribute to the CTR community, provide data for those contemplating...
Do recall reading that. However, there seems to be data proving that the Honda Engine Type 2.0 oil (used for factory fill) contains high moly content. This oil is NOT sold here in the US and believe is only available in Europe(?). There is some discussion about this on the BITOG link I...
Had the car for about 3 months and changed the oil at 2,292 miles, with MM oil life showing 80%.
Short trips for most of the week (avg 3.3 miles), and get some highway driving on weekends. With that being said, I was curious to see the fuel dilation measurements. I did post this on BITOG to...
First oil change at 2300 miles. I’ve always done first changes at 600-1k miles, but after reading the stuff about high moly and why not..waited it out a bit.
Doing oil analysis using Amsoil. Didn’t use Blackstone as I’ve read they don’t provide accurate fuel dilution measurements.
FlashPro is $795. The Hondata jailbreak form states "Jailbreak $275 plus freight ($60 USA / $110USD Canada /$125 Puerto Rico)". So total would be just over $1k? Sorry, guess I could just contact Hondata.
Would Enkei Kojin 18x9.5 +35 be an issue? Stock suspension, tire size 265/35/18. Enkei site does show they make them in +45 but seems most online stores only list +35.
Purchased the car 2 weeks ago, and today decided to check out the cargo space to see how the fk8 spare might fit. Well, seems like the dealer used the jack(?) and forgot to put it back..unless these don’t come with a jack.
Anyways, at about 480 miles..liking the car so far!
