Received my recall notice in the mail today. I need to schedule a visit to a dealership. Probably get it done in Ft. Lauderdale. I don't trust Miami techs. LOL!!!

I read on another forum that a guy in Canada took his car in for the worm gear fix and was told the fix was on hold as a new fix was coming out. I still haven't received a recall letter in the mail from Honda.

Mine started making this noise recently. I only hear it when I am moving slowly from a stop. Also, wonder if the clicking is related to the worm gear issue.

I'd be concerned what's in the service database system on this matter. If you go to trade in later, you might get dinged. I have such bad OCD I would be making them take a trade-in especially if they think there's nothing to worry about. They should take the car back and treat you very fairly...

I have NOT received a letter as of yet. I have a notification in my Hondalink app. I feel like I have the issue pretty much all the time. On center adjustments feel notchy all the time. The wheel doesn't move smoothly and exiting a curve when the wheel comes back to center again feels...

I worry about this. That the gear is damaged and could break while driving. It looks like its plastic. Not sure how well a plastic gear holds up if not lubricated properly against a metal worm gear.

Anyone that has had the steering recall fix, please let us know if the repair corrected the problem.

I don't find the fake sounds so bad. In my '03 M240i I thought they were terrible. In my CTR, I have engine noise set to "sport". I like hearing the downshifts even if they're fake. I won't be changing the exhaust so I will live with the sound module.

I turned it on and off a number of times. Never got that message. I agree with the other poster, in recommending go for a ride and see if the message clears.

I think its just the synchros not aligned. I usually slightly rev the gas with the clutch in before engaging first to ensure the synchros aligned.

My dealer's service dept. told me something similar last Friday. They're not making appts. until I receive a letter about the recall and parts not expected to be at the dealer until Dec. Does anyone have an opinion of the ability of the plastic gear not to have excess wear while the worm...

talked to my dealer. they have a wait list. So I will wait until after the holidays. Probably so chaotic at the moment.
