  1. Is it time to say hello to Type R and bye to S2000? Need Help!

Both are special cars. I owned an AP2 S2000 until 5 years ago, only selling because it not being used enough due too many motorcycles. FL5 feels much bigger (it is) and heavier. Traction is an issue in 1st gear max throttle, otherwise it does surprisingly well. I can drive the FL5 all day...
  2. Brand new vehicle: steering is off-center

Road crown may change the centering. If it's always off despite the road surface, make an alignment appointment at the dealer as soon as possible and schedule it a few days out.
  3. Can't Get A test Drive - Phoenix

I wouldn't have bought a car others had test driven without a discount. Sales manager said the biggest issue with test drives was many drivers didn't know how to use a manual transmission and he'd previously had cars come back with burnt clutch smell. My previous car was an FR-S. I test drove a...
  4. Catastrophic Engine Failure

From what I've heard from others, the Lemon Law is a process and asking for it often complicates matters.
  5. Do car manufacturers rate their horsepower and torque by the wheels or crankshaft?

Manufacturers rate at the crank. SAE provides a specific procedure that manufacturers are supposed to follow in regard to losses from accessories, water pump, etc. and the test engine is supposed to be representative of typical build vs. a blueprinted prototype. Twenty years ago Honda was...
  6. Typical oil pressure for FL5?

The Honda UK Owners Manual shows 0W-20 through 5W-30 viscosity oils are acceptable. The higher viscosity oil will provide superior film protection at low rpm's/high load and higher idle oil pressure. Also 5W-20 and 5W-30 will put less vapors in the PCV system. BTW the UK manual also...
  7. Extremely concerning data sharing by Honda and other makers about our driving with insurance/LexisNexis

I turned off data sharing in the menu. I'm not using Apple Carplay, Android Auto, or connecting the car to Wi-Fi. Otherwise everything works as it should.
  8. There’s a Reason Honda Made Active Exhaust, Don’t Disable

Mine is now 100% open and no difference in drivability. I live in AZ however. I suspect the valve is there strictly for noise emissions, which are strict in some countries and reportedly the main reason Porsche 911's became water cooled (air cooling fins resonated noise along with the cooling...
  9. 24 EX Alloy Wheel Touch Up?

I've had decent results with auto parts store clear spray paint for wheels. For best results, use 2K clear coat in a spray can (automotive paint store or Amazon). However you must use protective gear and ventilation with 2K, which is a 2 part coating similar to Imron.
  10. Anyone running heavier oil ie 5w30?

You'll find 5W-30 is fine per the European owners manual. Search Honda UK to find it. Engine internals are the same, regardless of location. Only reason 0W-20 is spec'd here is for CAFE fuel economy. 5W-30 provides a superior film thickness, especially for high loads, which these engines are...
