FYI - You can disable the feature. It pings if you had opened the rear door then went for a ride. The car reminds you to check the backseat since it logged that you had opened the rear door before the trip. But, you can disable under the settings menu. I turned it off.

While accelerating hard, a lot of drivers hit the rev limiter. It's a weird sensation as the fuel cutoff kicks in, but otherwise shouldn't be a problem. The money shift is what you want to avoid.

There's a rev limiter to protect the engine. With that said, if you did a "money shift" by accident it would be bad for the transmission and other components of the drive train. For example, if you were downshifting from 5th and missed 4th and hit second, that would not be good.

Long-term fix. The worm wheel gear is inspected before replacing the spring to ensure its not damaged. Then a new tension spring and new spring cover screw are installed along with re-greasing. This fix is not meant to be temporary.
