  1. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

Interesting how dealer policies for deposits vary so much. Right now I am 1st in line at my dealer in the Vancouver area, but they still haven't asked me for a deposit yet. I've even offered a few times. Kind of happy there is more than just the red, white and black options at launch like last...
  2. ? 2022 Civic Si First Drive Media Reviews & Videos Are Out!

Wow.... Doug must really hate the Civic Si. This is the second time he has used it in his "Cars and Bid" thing even though he did the shoot nearly 2 months ago now. Is he really this unimpressed that he can't be bothered to do the editing for it? You can see the Civic Si at the 1:00 time mark...
  3. ? 2022 Civic Si First Drive Media Reviews & Videos Are Out!

Oh nice, haha. I actually have a small Asimo that I used to hang from the mirror in my old GD3 Fit back in the day. Got my name on a Type-R waiting list, hoping to give him a new home soon!
  4. ? 2022 Civic Si First Drive Media Reviews & Videos Are Out!

Man, Doug DeMuro is sure dragging his feet on getting his 2022 Civic Si video up. Timely videos are supposed to be key for these youtubers to get views. He posted the teaser "cars and bids" of it on the Porsche video like 3 weeks ago now. I wonder if he was just hoping to capitalize on the R...
  5. ? 2023 Civic Type R making public debut January 14 @ Tokyo Auto Salon 2022

The windows are all blacked out, and doesn't seem to be a lot of revealing activities going on... the car is just sitting there. In some of the photos I've looked at, you can see they intentionally have hidden the drivetrain at the front and rear with short panel walls under the car. I'm...
  6. ? 2022 Civic Si First Drive Media Reviews & Videos Are Out!

Look about 28 seconds in.... Looks like an upcoming review of the Si by ol' Doug I am as surprised as you are, haha. Kind of late to the game, but will be interesting to see what he thinks of it
  7. 2023 Civic Type R now testing at Suzuka Circuit, Benchmarking Outgoing Type R

Great minds think alike, haha. Yeah my ST was a lot of fun. I had done a few tweaks on it (catback, Koni's, etc...), but kept it all within the H-Stock class for Autocross. To this day, it is the only FWD car I've ever driven that would oversteer instead of plow when I pushed it too hard thru a...
  8. 2023 Civic Type R now testing at Suzuka Circuit, Benchmarking Outgoing Type R

Pretty hard to get around this issue. Limited slip diff and stiff rear suspension helps, but you can only do so much to mitigate it. I had a Fiesta ST, and anytime you put your foot into it at low speed it would break free and spin. Getting off the line without spinning was basically impossible...
  9. ? 2022 Civic Type R Spied Inside & Out (First Interior Shots)! 265/30/19 tires revealed.

Oh nothing that specific to be honest. It is just the gut impression I get when I look at the current generation verses the new one. I think the new one will be more slippery, but perhaps not generate as much downforce. I could be completely wrong, this is just speculation on my part. To me at...
  10. ? 2022 Civic Type R Spied Inside & Out (First Interior Shots)! 265/30/19 tires revealed.

I've been thinking about this a lot as well. The current generation is laden with functional aero, which contributed to their fantastic ring time. However, from the pictures we are seeing of the upcoming version, a lot has been softened due to criticism from journalists over how it looks. I...
  11. 2023 Civic Type R now testing at Suzuka Circuit, Benchmarking Outgoing Type R

The old one was pretty contentious, I can understand why Honda dialed it back. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I greatly prefer the ascetics of the new one. It looks more serious and purpose built to me. I also think it will likely be more solid than the current gen as well.
  12. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

Checking in from BC, Canada. I put my name on a waitlist at my local dealer a while ago. They haven't asked me for a deposit yet, but I check in with them frequently to see if there are updates. I think once they get more details they will ask me for one. I really wanted to get an absolute...
