  1. 2022 Civic colors and trims revealed ?

Yea EXL being axed is somewhat expected. Honda's CEO in 2018 when he took over even made the "madness" of so many trims a priority to trim across all the cars. The Accord had 13 different factory build configs as his example and it just drives up cost of manufacturing. In general also Honda's...
  2. Civic Hatchback Hybrid Only? Mag-X Japanese Magazine Google Translate Details

Hah, very little are actually buying those brands as new cars, they are mostly used cars from leases. So while new the car was $40k, they end up buying them for $30k and below used. Around the suburbs where I live, Honda sedans still outnumber of the rest of the sedans with a huge bias for 10th...
  3. Civic Hatchback Hybrid Only? Mag-X Japanese Magazine Google Translate Details

The CRV and HRV actually follow the Accord, they are just behind the Accord cycle. Their current frontends are akin to the 9th gen Accords. The 10th gen Civic was designed in America, now that Honda reorganized in 2018 under the new CEO, they have moved all design back to Japan, so it figures...
  4. Civic Hatchback Hybrid Only? Mag-X Japanese Magazine Google Translate Details

The accord was missing from some honda surveys last year about future plans. They may we'll be discontinuing it in the future and just lumping it all under civics. Not only are sedan sales dying but we are past peak vehicle sales, there are YoY declines regardless of suv sales increasing. All...
  5. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

Yea the cost differential on Accord Hybrid is only $1400 from Honda, roughly. So it's quite "cheap" to add. It's even easier now that Hybrids can share the same vehicle chassis as the gas cars. Toyota has a higher cost differential but it's their brand markup, also I think their system is...
  6. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

Meanwhile Tesla is still trying to push out their pedestrian murdering truck.
  7. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

Toyota is eating their lunch with "boring designs" probably. The Accord and Civic saw a 27/37% drop in Feburary sales. The Camry and Corolla have only seen 18%/17% drops. Honda CUV/SUV sales are actually up at the same time so it isn't purely a "economy drop", especially Toyota saw RAV4 sales drop.
  8. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

It would be weird as hell to have a hybrid with a turbo engine. They do already have the 1.5 hybrid on the Civic aka Insight in the architecture of the Accord.
  9. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

Europe is not the only market for Honda. Asia and China combined match and exceed US market for them. Most Asian countries are pushing hard for electrification as well. Otherwise you are in denial, the combustion engine is going to be killed off by everyone within a decade or two. It won't be...
  10. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

There's literally no reason for Honda to invest any further in engine tech. They have committed in Europe to going hybrid and electric only from 2023. That means this may be the last new gasoline car generation for the US as well before they go Hybrid only in the further future. It's safe to...
  11. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

Inverted the HRV because left hand is the best hand
  12. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

We are past peak car, every manufacturer is trying to streamline because sales are going down YoY of all vehicles in general. They are being pushed to cost cut and reorganize. Honda specifically in 2018 with their CEO transition committed to reorganizing their business units. Particularly...
  13. ? Production 2022 Civic Sedan LEAKED!

I like it as a base. Though I don't think the white works on it too well (but many cars look terrible in white due to lack of good accenting imho) Though since this looks like a baby Accord, it's fun to think that Honda also optioned the Accord for a hatchback but never did it.
  14. The new civic, from a dealership-employee-perspective...

Hah I inquired with 2 dealers here in Long Island, neither wanted to reply
  15. 2022 Civic Hatchback Spied Again With New Wheels, Less Camo

This is neat. The interior is visible in the photos and is strongly similar to that of the Civic 2022 concept, there will no doubt be overlap and similarity here and is a great taste of things to come. I am glad Honda has dumped the god awful HRV interior and is improving the Civic interior as well.
