Hey everyone! So after about 100 miles of driving and 5 or so key cycles, my long term fuel trims have gone from -0.78 to -6.2. I called k&n and they said this is due to the increased flow and as long as there is no check engine light, then I don't need to worry. Super curious where everyone...
Sound is fantastic! I was also considering the 27WON because of the Dry filter and the open design as. But after looking at the instructions of the 27WON, there is a lot going on. Plus I don't think you can service the filter without disassembling the entire intake as the filter presses against...
Just got mine installed today. Everything went good except for installing the filter. I thought it could be installed last as that is how the instructions have it. But I ended up having to remove the filter adapter and install the filter onto the adapter before installing the adapter back into...
Did you end up buying the k&n intake? I found three dryflow filters that should fit.
K&N dryflow - RP-3134HBK
AEM dryflow - 21-2073DK
AFE pro dry s - 21-50505
I just ordered the intake from Amazon. If fuel trims are good, I'll probably pick up the AEM Dryflow filter for it.
I don't think an s2000 filter would fit. The length would already be pushing it and the mounting flange of the s2000 filter is a few inches smaller than the k&n filter that comes with this kit.
K&n does sell a dryflow version of this filter but it's pretty pricey at $146.99
Nice find! I also use a dryflow on my HVI. And I believe green filters supplies PRL with their filters. Unless you're talking about a dry green filter which I wasn't aware existed!
Yeah you've got a good point. Life's short, enjoy the car as much as possible.
But things like rock chips and door dings are things I can't control. Dust into the engine for some extra noise is something I can control.
But like I said earlier, most people don't have any issues running PRL...
Honda OEM air filters are very efficient. Check out this thread where someone actually had one tested via ISO 5011

High efficiency air filtration is probably one of the reasons Honda engines...
Yeah, I think it is fine alone, but the tape adds an extra layer of security. It fits super snug. No chance of it falling off or shifting under vibration.
I was worried about the loose fit of the AEM as well. It holds tight, but I can't guarantee that the flange isn't pinching and creating small air gaps when compressed. My solution to this was wrapping the PRL velocity stack with some silicone self fusing tape. It seems to have worked great. To...
The AEM looks pretty decent. The outer red layer is like a felt material and the inner white layer is like a thin piece of paper material.
I attached pictures of the layers as well as when held up to the light. Threw in pictures of the PRL filter as well in case anyone is curious.
I actually did the same. I've cut open an AEM dryflow and the PRL filter so far to look at the media. The description of the green filters, who makes PRL filters, says they use one coarse layer and one fine layer. But both layers look identical to me. Does yours look the same? I can't understand...
