Hi All,
Just came across this thread - I've had my order for several months - was second in line at my dealer.
Honda Australia sent out an email yesterday alongside the Japan release, that basically had the same info - however also mentioned this :
'the all-new Civic Type R will officially be...
I hear what you're saying but there is more to it than that - for example, flywheel changes, as well as the wheel size is different (overall tyre diameter is smaller) and the gear ratio is different (final drive). So it's not only the 'power' that has changed and therefore hard to compare directly.
Swirls? Weather issues? Rough surface/gravel etc causing scratches? Or just maintenance effort?
I'm pretty much sold on the black but curious of other's experiences.
The angles on the new one seem better proportioned overall when looking at them together in that latest pic - the lines appear more in sync than the 10th. Doesn't necessarily mean better, but I like it.
Yea I feel I'll step in here and say that you're sounding pretty unconstructive here. I'm sure you have a point, but honestly, based on the minimal comment the other guy originally said, and I've read both of your comments, I'll just say that you're coming across in a different way than what...
I've always wondered how being smashed onto the front of the car because it's low, would be worse than punted 50 metres into the air because it's a bit higher / or just run over because it pushes you infront of the car instead of over. Sure, they'll cause different injuries of course, but...
Can anyone who has actually seen one in real life, confirm the colour of Boost Blue for me? i.e. is it like the car in this photo? (it appears to be a little different shade in just about every photo I can find).
It's ok - I definetely am not going to get the black and decided a while ago I would wait for the pics to see what other colour to get. I knew whatever they look like, I wasn't getting black. So on an unrelated note, I called the dealer today just to chat and let him know to make sure he...
Makes sense - I haven't seen it in person. In person even the FK8 rear end seems far more cohesive than in photos (and I personally thought Honda designers might have lost their minds when that first came out) so I know what you mean for sure.
I really like the car's shape overall - however personally I find it mismatched front to back. The front is a smooth, sculptured design, while the rear view is slightly older fashioned, sharper edged and busy in comparison. I personally like the front better, but regardless, they just don't...
I actually went and had a look at videos of the standard new hatch vs the previous one. - and Yes, the difference in these shots seems extremely exagerated because in the comparisons I found, it was very similar between the two cars - not like these photos.
Yes the intercooler shroud does appear to have a funnel design which at least looks nice, but functionally any benefit that compression (velocity that you describe it as) would be partially counter productive regarding the force applied against the car to compress that air. But may still...
The problem for me on these visualiser colours is that they really just don't seem to match the real world. I photoshopped the black easily to see what it looks like, but the blue is difficult because I don't know what shade it really looks like and all photos of Boost Blue seem to be slightly...
Yep for sure FL5 is looking good - however my original comment about 'better' was in response to the post saying that every gen will be better - where the future beyond FL5 for example, has me questioning that.
