  1. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 vs. Toyota GR Corolla showdown! Comparison review by Motortrend

It's too bad Toyota decided to use the Corolla platform. It's not small as a Yaris but it's not big enough to be practical as a Civic. t's in a weird position. The Corolla hatchback really loses on practicality compared to the Civic. The Civic is almost as spacious as a Camry.
  2. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 vs. Toyota GR Corolla showdown! Comparison review by Motortrend

Can't really judge how usable an engine's power band is based on its size. Here's a stock GR Yaris: It hits most of its torque before 3k rpm. It's all in the hardware combination and tuning. For example, the 2.0 Accord has way more low end torque than the 2.0 in the Type R. Different...
  3. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 vs. Toyota GR Corolla showdown! Comparison review by Motortrend

IMO, the GR Corolla will be more fun if you live in a snow state. High powered FWD car in the winter can get annoying.
  4. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 vs. Toyota GR Corolla showdown! Comparison review by Motortrend

It's based on the TNG-C platform, which is about 4 years old. The GR Corolla received additional spot welds, so it's a stiffer platform. I wouldn't say it's that old of an platform. The 11th gen Civic is based on an updated 10th gen platform to put things in perspective.
  5. Winter Tire setup

the most budget setup would be some used honda odyssey wheels. they have the same bolt pattern. you'll probably want something like 18 x 8. the benefit of running oem wheels is you don't need a second set of lug nuts. as far tires, look at vredestein wintrac pro. they're performance winters, so...
  6. **Market Adjustment**

Free PR for the dealer. Genius.
  7. What did you pay for your FL5?

As long as you’re fine with paying the 10k to have the car 1-2 years sooner, then that’s all that matters.
  8. What did you pay for your FL5?

I bought mine both out of state in Iowa. Those dealers are now asking over msrp for the FL5, which they don’t even have an allocation for yet. Just letting the market cool down. If it always stays above msrp, I’ll just pass on it. It’s just a Honda Civic lol.
  9. What did you pay for your FL5?

lol don't worry about honda pumping out a ton of FL5. you'll be able to sleep just fine knowing your FL5 is more exclusive than an M3.
  10. What did you pay for your FL5?

Nobody knows but it's unlikely there will be a surplus of FL5 based on historic Type R production numbers.
  11. What did you pay for your FL5?

At MSRP, you can drive the car a few years for 'free'. Don't forget you still need to sell the car for 4k over MSRP just to cover your taxes. With ADM and taxes, it's unlikely you'll break even in a few years. I bought two Fk8s at sticker and drove them for 'free'.
  12. 🙋🏻‍♂️ Media Launch Questions for savagegeese?

@savagegeese, looks like you just picked up your FL5. I'm waiting for a video where you show us how to remove the strut pin to get that -1.2 camber and turn this into a track beast. Also is that 90 degree valve stem a gimmick? Looks like some real motorsport technology right there.
  13. 2024 Integra Type S Officially Announced! + First Drive Reviews!

Honda can’t even produce enough of their bread and butter cars. I don’t see them trying to pump out more CTR and sacrifice their bread and butter models. It’s not like CTR is built in its own factory.
  14. 2024 Integra Type S Officially Announced! + First Drive Reviews!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Honda produces less ITS than CTR. The market is smaller for the ITS. I believe most Acura dealers will mark it up. Who doesn’t like free money?
  15. 2024 Integra Type S Officially Announced! + First Drive Reviews!

Acura dealers aren’t dumb and will most likely mark up the ITS just like the CTR. Everyone knows it’s just a “CTR under the hood”.
  16. 2024 Integra Type S Officially Announced! + First Drive Reviews!

It looks like the ITS doesn’t have a moonroof based on the spyshots. That tells me it’s the most hardcore of the type s models. I’m just not sure what kind of buyer Acura is going for besides the millennials that grew up with a 90s Integra. I don’t see this car bringing in new customers. With...
  17. SGP available in WA

I thought you had to title it and pay sales tax in order to qualify as used. Maybe if they can put a few thousand miles, it can be counted as used.
  18. Honda Going For FWD Nurburgring Lap Record With FL5 Civic Type R

Assuming same tire compound, the 265 width tire should allow the fl5 to carry a little more speed around turns. The small weight disadvantage of the fl5 should matter less on a big track.
  19. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 Dyno #2 - Higher Octane and More Data (from Hondata)

Probably too costly to develop a solution for that. It seems like even the factory numbers can be a bit subjective. Also a huge drawback is peak number only tells a small part of the story. Need to see the entire torque curve. Also you have 100 other factors to consider, gear ratios, drivetrain...
  20. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 Dyno #2 - Higher Octane and More Data (from Hondata)

How so? Looking at just the AFR doesn’t tell us the full story. For example, need to see if it’s hitting its ignition targets or if timing is being pulled. I don’t believe it is though.
