The funniest part is somewhere theres a group of highly paid execs sitting around trying to actually figure out what they want to do, I'm of the thought that they don't even know yet what the plan is for 2026.
I dont disagree but thats across their entire model line, not unique to Type R. FL5 is basically the one thing still built in Japan and thus is hit above and beyond everything else.
The tariffs aren't actually as bad as it sounds. 50% of the car is using US parts. So $45k invoice, x50%x15% is under $4k in tariffs. Its not nothing but its not $10-15k either like some thought.
Bit the bullet and added the JDM mirror caps, I was completely 50/50 on if I wanted to install. I actually LOVE them, apparently no one else likes them but I'm a big fan.
I learned to drive stick in my first S2000 which historically has a very high engagement point, for 15 years across 120k miles in S2000s I would say a solid 50%+ of my shifts have been without pushing the clutch all the way to the floor and I have yet to see any issues and the only clutch job...
Yeah.....better than my last car, I rebuilt the entire shifter with aftermarket parts, lowering springs and wheels all within about 2 weeks. Thankfully theres a whole lot more I like about this car stock than the last one.
Has anyone used this one instead of the PRL rear mount? I'm an admitted JDM-addict so always try to use known JDM tuners parts where possible, logic be damned. Did some searching and haven't seen any references to this part, looks like its 20% stiffer than OEM, curious how that compares to PRL...
