Yep - simply leaning left and right into the bolsters triggers the squeaking. The service manager seemed pretty confident a new frame would do the trick. This, coupled with parts readily available, made me wonder if this an internally documented issue.
Looks like carandriver have finally posted their numbers for the FL5:
UPDATE 11/29/22: This review has been updated with test results.

Update - took it to the dealer yesterday and they agreed there's def an issue with the front drivers seat squeaking and stated they ordered a new seat frame, estimated 2-3 days for the part to come in. I'll report back if this addressed the issue - below is a quick video I posted to point it out.
It’s a new Type R…I don’t think you’ll be flying under the radar regardless of color. :)
With that said I’m very picky when it comes to color and you’re dropping a lot of coin so I’d make sure to get what you want with zero regrets. In the end its you who will be looking back at it every time...
Some squeaking surfaced in the front drivers seat of my FL5 during an ACH run over the weekend. Can only hear it by rocking side to side up against the bolsters. I setup an appointment with the dealership to have a look next Monday.
Unlikely but certainly possible. These are different times and what applied to the FK8 may not apply to the FL5...Not built in the same plant, supply chain issues, all that stuff.
I didn't see a single dealer in LA or SF with more than one, with many not getting any at all. There's also many...
Sorry was just being a bit cheeky. No FK8 here (former Si owner so any Type R feels like a big upgrade to me) but I'll try and get some dragy times posted after my FL5s break in (sitting at about 275 miles atm).
Not too much to add since the original post. Handling wise the Type R is sharper and more planted/stable in all modes. Steering feels more refined and has more weight across the comparable modes with R+ feeling a little over the top. I will say with the Si being lighter and narrower body/tires...
Motor Illustrated had this to say in regards to the steering:
Now, about steering, I am surprised to report that the new FL5’s performance is a trivial notch below, from 12 to 11 out of ten, from that of the FK8’s. The best way to illustrate the difference is that the old Type R’s assistance is...
Just blown away how one video review can cause this much drama. I love the throttle house guys but feel it's too early in the game to make broad assumptions. In time, more FL5 testing and comparos will surface painting a clearer picture.
With that said, why isn't this a hotter topic?
A hair...
