I had a much different experience than most today...
Called 3 dealerships that were listed as having incoming FL5's. All 3 were still available and not spoken for. One dealership wanted $25K ADM....the second began negotiations at $10K. The 3rd said they were accepting offers but pretty much...
Have you spoken to the Sales Manager? I contacted Hall about 6 months ago to get on their list. They didn't take a deposit but informed me their price would be $20K over MSRP. I've been quoted much less markups from dealers in Northern NC.
I know this is likely true but I find it so hard to believe in today's economy. People paying 150+ % MSRP with super high interest rates have really got to have their heart set on the FL5.
The 5+ FK8's for sale in my local area have been dropping in price steadily the past couple months that...
I won't debate that. But I do find it odd that the rumormill is churning a LOT heavier in Canada than in the US. A lot of these assumptions are coming from the speculation that Canada will only receive 550 or so allocations over 4 yrs....but how do we know that's any stronger than a dealer in...
I'm not sure where to locate the data, but I was told the US sold about 20K FK8's. If you remove Canada from the equation and assume Honda plans to make 60-70% FL5's in comparison to FK8's then those numbers shouldn't be that far off. However, I've not seen any concrete information that shows...
I'm on 5 lists - but those lists mean nothing in today's dealer-owned market. Dealers will mark this car up massively at first - and claim they are rare (which they likely are to be at launch). And they will probably waiver on their verbal price agreements prior to contract signing.
But...
Just in my small group of friends, I know 5 people who paid MSRP for an FK8....and it wasn't difficult.
I'm not saying crazy markups won't be there, nor am I saying people won't pay them. I'm simply saying people will buy FL5's for much less than $20K+ markups "all day" after the initial wave.
Early sales may see those markups...but 6 months from now anybody paying 150% MSRP will be considered an idiot....just like with the Gr86/BRZ early adopters. You all have the right to pay whatever you want - just don't be mad when we get the same car later for $10-15K less
I pass about 9-10 different FK8's every day on my normal commute. I don't really see them as a collector's car, and not worth the current asking price.
That being said - I realize the prices are determined by consumers....so I guess I'm in the minority opinion.
I am willing to wiggle a bit on...
I've spoken to 5 or 6 dealers in my area that have added me to their list but aren't taking down payments. I've discussed ballpark market adjustments and have heard $10K and $20K numbers.
Today I reached out to a smaller dealer that is a bit further away but still in my state. They told me...
