An ECU unlock and tune from @Jester04 is the 1st step. Best bang for your buck and really transforms the car.

I didn't have any problem with it, just sprucing things up. Actually I do remember it was pretty difficult to see the level right after an oil change. Once it darkened up it wasn't bad. Chasing J's has its own issue which is it stays hot for a long time.

I've always had fun in West Virginia but driving through in the Type R is crazy. Occasionally have to remember to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Would it work if you put the key in a Faraday bag before hiding it so the car would think it's left the car?

On the OEM CF pieces the red weave is smaller and closer to a square, all the knockoffs I've seen have longer rectangular weave.

Yes 99.99% of 1st gear downshift is going to be for parking lots. Never force it into first. And don't go hard on it in low rpm's.
