  1. FL5 Vanity Plate Hall of Fame

JDMASF - Now that is one I would copy
  2. Rear vents/USB port mod

Based on the design, is the idea that this diverts part of the air flow that would otherwise come out from under the seats to the new vents? I wonder if this means there would be no back air vent airflow unless you switched the AC to the foot/floor setting. The foot/floor vents aren't on often...
  3. How Does Driving Experience Compare?

A recurring theme I am seeing here is the FL5 isn't quite as good as a >$85K sports car - but it is surprisingly close to as good. Hence, it is an extraordinary value proposition for auto enthusiasts.
  4. Did I get a good deal?

I think this is a very good deal. Used Fl5s are listed for $45K and up where I live.
  5. Rear vents/USB port mod

Follow-up question for anyone who might know. Would sourcing from on OEM Honda parts site provide a better fit between the new console piece (with the vents) and the rest of the console? Seems like fit has been an issue for most folks who purchased the Mikstore kit. Or is the Mikstore kit going...
  6. Rear vents/USB port mod

Is Mikstore the only provider for this product?
  7. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Added the Martoffes phone holder (really clever design) and a red USB cable to match the interior.
  8. What did you pay for your FL5?

Yep. The Accord is mine - 2.0T Sport 6-speed MT - most fun you can have in a spacious family sedan. It used to be the fun car. It is still great to drive and has some cavernous interior space (awesome for road trips) - but it can't compare to the fun of the CTR.
  9. What did you pay for your FL5?

It would have been my wife's daily driver and our club-soccer hauler. The CTR is now her daily driver (although she lets me drive it quite a bit) and our 2018 Accord has become the club-soccer hauler.
  10. What did you pay for your FL5?

Again, if the dealership is to be believed, it was sitting about 80 days on the lot and five 'near' sales had fallen through. Apparently one guy who put down a deposit showed up to finalize the sale and his wife (seeing the car for the first time) said "We are not buying that car". Another guy...
  11. Post your FL5 Civic Type R delivery pics! 🙌 📸

Well done - a good deal for sure. I feel like many dealers are going to quote a high markup over the phone - but will be more apt to come down on the markup if you come in person ready to drive the car off the lot that day.
  12. What did you pay for your FL5?

I was able to snag a 2024 boost blue at the end of this past March for $800 under MSRP (no dealer add-ons aside from doc fees). The dealership (supposedly) had a number of sales fall through and seemed very motivated to get it off their lot before the beginning of April. I made an aggressive...
  13. What did you pay for your FL5?

WTF! How did they get so many CTRs!? Must be a huge volume dealer (or they have just been sitting on these things for months). Out in TN you might see a dealer with two on the lot at any one time, but typically only one (or more likely, zero).
  14. 2022 VW Golf R vs 2022 Honda Type R

My wife and I were upset that a manual WRX wagon was not in the cards. Not even an Outback manual option at that time. We had to go with the Forester. Very few manual wagon options anywhere aside from VW (which I was not going back to). I was further disappointed that you could not get the...
  15. 2022 VW Golf R vs 2022 Honda Type R

I totally experienced this with my VW Diesel Jetta Sportswagon. I had a cold starting issue the dealer "fixed" three times. It became clear they really had no clue what to do. Sold that thing back to WV as part of the Dieselgate settlement as quick as I could. Then bought a Subaru (then a Honda).
  16. I switched from GRC to FL5, here are my notes

I know it is an exceptional car in several respects - but I just can't get past the fact that the GRC has 3-cylinders.
  17. I’ll just park next to you thank you

Good point! One of the problems is that most drivers either don't know how to reverse into a parking spot or are too lazy to do it. When I got my learners permit I did the Young Drivers of Canada course and they drilled into all of us that you should always reverse into a parking spot when...
  18. I’ll just park next to you thank you

I did this about a month ago at a brewpub after having my 2024 CTR for about a week - backed in against the curb where the lot ended. Came out 45mins later and there was a Hyundai Veloster N parked beside me. My buddy who was with me was a bit irked about it. For me, it was a compliment: game...
