Yep. I have about 6 dealers I am personally communicating with more than any other, but all are the same… they just say it will be first come first serve, and they can’t take a deposit on a vehicle until they have a VIN/Order Reference. But yeah, they have all been pretty good at confirming...
Fwiw… just got a message from a dealer I’ve been working with, according to them, no Type R allocations…I’ll be interested to see what others find out.
Yep, that’s how I feel sometimes. That’s why I keep hoping these allocations will finally get pushed out with VINs, so I can immediately start hammering the dealers I’ve stayed in contact with, and prevent that very thing from happening.
I guess because I live in an area where all dealers are first come first serve, no deposits without VINs… and the sooner these dealers have their VINs, the sooner they will allow customers to lock in a car, and the sooner I’ll know where I stand. I haven’t had the luxury of knowing I’m getting...
What I’m waiting to see, is if this best case happens, will dealers finally be given an official VIN to go along with it. Can’t do anything without that where I am.
Hey, all of you working in this industry, on this forum, have done so much already to keep people in the loop. I’m not complaining, I’m thankful. Just hoping there will be some sort of heads up for us without deposits…
I’m just trying to figure out at what point dealerships (without deposits) will finally receive VINs, so I can attempt to get one. But guess it will literally be one second before the cars hit the lots.
Do all of these assumptions, if true, regarding allocations being released this week, mean that it’s possible dealerships will have the information they need to begin allowing deposits? Aka would these allocations come with VINs? Or does this just mean they will be given a number? I have...
It’s really going to depend on where you are, and if you’ve done any leg work leading up to now. If you’re in an area where all dealers are taking deposits, it’s probably too late, my area, none are taking deposits. So it is still possible. As for markups, I’ve seen everything from 10k-25k...
You do understand there are entire markets that have dealerships that do not do deposits, right? So you’re telling me the entire state of Texas won’t be getting any Type Rs?
I think we have all heard enough of all the people that already have 6 deposits and are first in line at all of them...
At this point, just feels like that’s what’s going to happen. Everyone without a deposit somewhere is going to have to be lucky or have great timing, seeing as we will all probably find out, at the last minute. Then have to haul ass to the dealer and hope someone else didn’t beat you there...
