It does exactly what I wanted it to, which is: It makes it significantly more neutral during heavy cornering in autocross. You can even induce a little lift-off oversteer! I don't wish I got anything more aggressive because there's no need to make a FWD car super tail happy IMO
Did a bunch of little maintenance items over the weekend. Engine and cabin filters, tire rotation, spark plugs, oil change, put EVEN MORE GREASE IN MY GODFORSAKEN CLUTCH FORK to keep it quiet and smooth
Here's what my spark plugs looked like after 60K miles, 9k of which tuned! I thought they...
I've been chasing down the clutch squeak gremlin for MONTHS now. I get a squeaking noise and an atrocious grinding/sticking sensation in the pedal. In my case, it's the clutch fork itself, rather than the slave cylinder, so greasing it is a bit more involved because you need to take the slave...
Hilariously, that didn't solve it. What DID was popping the dust boot off the clutch fork itself and discovering that the clutch fork pivot point inside the transmission was BONE DRY. Genuinely pretty pissed at the shop who did my clutch. How do you miss that?
Anyway, schmeared some Lucas Red...
Final bit of nonsense with my clutch solved
Recently replaced my CMC, bled and adjusted everything so I have a nice low-mid bite point with a slightly heavier than stock pedal feel (thank the Exedy stage 0 clutch for that). The clutch pedal had been creaking a bit when pressing the pedal or...
Check the kit from TSP, it specifies that it's for the 22+ Civics. The 10th gen (like you showed) and 11th actually have slightly different 1.5T's. I'm sure the ones you listed are fine but the ones on the TSP site are specified for our generation!
ARP head studs are a must for preventing head lift and the dreaded head gasket issue. After that, and after you've tuned it drive it gently for a while and see if your stock clutch can take it. It likely won't, at which point you should put the RV6 Type R clutch in. You'll be massively...
I know this isnt directly tuning related, but I though this would be good to share since I don't know of any other 11th-gen folks who have had this problem yet.
So it turns out the shop who did my RV6 clutch kinda bungled my clutch master cylinder somehow. Not only was it adjusted so...
Brief update to this: I replaced the leaking CMC with a replacement OEM one and bled it using a pressure bleeder. I just put the thing straight in there out of the box with no adjustments, and it feels pretty decent already. If I'm gonna complain about anything, the clutch grabs a little low...
Don't take my word for it 100% but my understanding was that the head gasket leaking isn't due to the gasket itself, but rather the head bolts stretching and allowing the head to lift, breaking the gasket's seal. I think an OEM gasket is fine provided you use a stronger headstud with greater...
I'm assuming you're referring to the clutch masters kit rather than OEM, right?
If so, do you know if the kit comes with any literature for setting the adjustments, or am I on my own there?
Unfortunately, literally right after I made this post, I went out to my car and noticed some brake fluid dripping onto my floor mats. The CMC is leaking
I am gonna call the shop who did my clutch and see if they'll make good on this, otherwise I'll be replacing it myself. Such is the...
Hey all,
About a month ago I had the RV6 FK8 retrofit kit put in my car by a shop. Things were normal for a time but after the break-in I've noticed a few things:
1. (The biggest thing) Occasionally the bite point seems to move around and the amount of effort it takes to actually depress the...
Each offer to help me with my POS buys you an additional set of hands for the next ITS job. I'm gonna check this clutch pedal adjustment screw tonight cause now that I think of it, there's really no free play at the top of the pedal travel, and I know there should be!
Feel free to ignore my delusions, but I wanted to put this out there to see if anyone has experienced something similar. I've had the RV6 FK8 retrofit kit on my car for about 1900 miles now. To keep it tuning related, I've got about 5,000 miles tuned with Phearable 1.5R with no engine problems...
Update to my previous post: according to Phearable you do NOT need to re-tune the ECU after installing the RV6 clutch kit, which is convenient considering I have now installed the RV6 clutch kit!
The pedal effort is a good bit higher than stock, the friction zone is a lot wider, and the clutch...
I have just received the RV6 Type R retrofit clutch kit. Does anybody know if I will have to reach out to Phearable to get a tune revision to accommodate the new flywheel, or will I be fine with the tune i have? My understanding is that the RV6 flywheel is basically the same weight as the 11th...
Happy new year, everyone. Thought I'd update on my car a bit.
I now have about 1,000 tuned miles logged on my 2023 SI, tuned with Phearable 1.5R using a KTuner V2. It seems like the 1-by-1 headstud method has worked, as I have no fluid consumption or burning. I think my driving style (highway...
