Yep, everything is very much OK. TBH, this car underwhelms me a bit. And I've lost the desire to have a manual daily driver (I've got my E46 M3 for that outlet). Will follow-up and provide an update once the next vehicle is secured...

Great point. Also why most OEM’s cover the engine with plastic panels/covers. Dissuade owners from touching anything.
Indeed. And you nailed it with “cheaper”. That’s the main reason Honda does it. I get it, just don’t like it.
Finally got around to installing the RedLine Tuning QuickLIFT PLUS Hood Shocks. Blows my mind that here in 2023, the Civic still has an old school hood prop.
