Not yet. I'm lazy and ignorance is bliss lol. With the hood closed and normal driving I don't hear anything so I'm going to get through this track weekend and take a look at it when I have time. Been a busy week.
Anything’s possible but I heard it when I first started and the reservoir was still full. Didn’t think to raise engine rpm to see if it followed but thats on the list of things to check tomorrow. To me it sounds like a bad Toyota water pump lol which had me thinking a bearing in the vacuum pump...
Anybody experienced a “chirping” noise when bleeding brakes? As soon as I start pumping the brake pedal I get this noise and it goes away after a little bit. My best guess it’s related to the vacuum pump. Ran out of time tonight to grab the stethoscope but hoping to take a look at it after work...
I'm curious about your thoughts on sway bar links. When setting up Spec Miatas it is standard practice to use adjustable end links. Disconnect before corner balancing/aligning. Then hook up and adjust length at the end to avoid any preload on the bar. Think it would be worth anything on the FL5?
If you're around Orlando check out Orlando Kart Center. Awesome facility and the employees are top notch. I went a couple of months ago and had a blast.
Now those are the prices I'm looking for! I'll likely still order through our supplier at work just in case they don't work out. But I'm gonna give it a shot.
@PointByPatrol are you running Paragon R5 front and P3 rear? I feel like I read that somewhere but I'm lazy and don't wanna use the...
Yea the FK8 is what made me lean heavier into trying it. I don’t care about the weight. They’ll likely not dissipate the heat as good but I don’t usually run full sessions anyway. I’m gonna go for it and try it out at Summit next month before making the longer drive to VIR in May.
Anybody ran single piece rotors on track? It’s time to buy brakes and I’m having a hard time swallowing the price of the two piece rotors. I can get all 4 rotors for the price of one Girodisc. Leaning heavily towards going that route since I’ll only be doing 2-3 weekends in the car this year.
Damn that sucks. Kinda looks like the pucks used to lift Teslas. Also, probably a good time to remind everybody to run their visors down on track. Don’t want that thing coming through the side window and hitting you in the face.
I'm on the fence right now. Turns out this is on the same weekend as my favorite race of the year. For now I'm going to hold off on deciding until I know which of my friends are gonna do that race.
