qingcong, the difference being that the K20 in the Type R is in a higher state of tune than the RDX version. Slightly higher redline, 43 more hp, 30 more lb-feet of torque.
chopsuey34, I didn't finance my CTR, but even so, reading your thread there, man, that's scary. On the one hand, there was the "life is too short to drive a boring car" argument, while the $$ side of the brain screams, "Camry hybrid, you idiot!"
TchnoZ23, I'm pretty damn old and have a spotless driving record, but, unfortunately for insurance purposes, I live in California. For those who are not aware, auto insurance companies have either pulled out of California entirely, or they're continually raising their rates at an obscene clip...

Yes, I sold Honda for many years. Cars or motorcycles, Honda has long been my favorite brand, as well as the brand I trust the most. However, with their transition to direct injection and turbos I am aware that these are no longer the Civics, Accords, and CR-Vs of old that...
Tires installed are somewhere close to $1,800, and instead of lasting the usual 60,000 miles this set will last, oh, 20,000, if we're lucky? Compared to a normal car, or even an ND2, that's a huge recurring expense.
The brakes on my old hybrid Camry basically never need replacing, and even the...
Love my '24 Boost Blue FL5 to death. Bought it new, have had it for six months and 6,000 miles, swapped in the Type S ADS module, got my dealer to honor the TSB for the '22 Civics regarding the buzzing in the dash/infotainment (they go into the dash and add felt pieces at some of the contact...
I've never driven an FK8, so I'll have to take your word on that.
The only thing I can say with certainty is that the DE5 module makes my FL5 feel more like a "normal" car. Whether that's good or bad, I still haven't decided. I know that with the CTR module my car felt uniquely stiff, and I...
This is the dissenting opinon that I suspect is probably the most accurate description of the differences between the two modules. No difference in bounciness, other than for the differences in stiffness along that sliding scale. I like to tell myself there is a big difference in reduced...
Honestly, I'm still not certain I will stick with the ITS module. As many have pointed out, the CTR's Comfort mode is perfectly fine for most situations, and it's essentially equivalent to the ITS's Sport mode. I think the ITS's Sport mode is less bouncy than the CTR's Comfort mode, but I am...
Yep, and how great is it to know that that description so utterly irritates some people. Makes it even a bit more of a warm fuzzy now.
I think I may have to look into getting a personalized 'FWD GT3' license plate, just to make certain people's heads spin in righteous indignation.
Jesus, some of you people need to calm down with your incessant need to correct the notion that the FL5 isn't really a FWD GT3. Seriously, you really think you need to tell us that no, our $46K Honda isn't actually on the level of a $250K Zuffenhausen thoroughbred? As if we don't already realize...
I've had the ITS module installed for a decent while now, which hasn't been easy. Normally with these types of comparisons I swap back and forth quickly and frequently, to get as many immediate back-and-forth impressions as possible. This time, however, I wanted to try living with the ITS for a...
It is absolutely not necessary to disconnect the battery. I didn't disconnect mine, and literally no adjustments needed to be made to anything. All the same functions still behave as usual, using the same buttons. Nothing changes, except for the stiffness/bounciness of the suspension damping.
I can definitely confirm now that the ITS module is less bouncy. I still haven't decided which module I prefer overall, because I like the racy edginess of the CTR piece, but if the goal is strictly to reduce the CTR's bounciness, the ITS does the job.
I'll continue testing the ITS a bit longer before deciding my winner, but I already know what the decision will come down to, and it has nothing to do with how all the reviewers and most people here have framed the debate. Most people compare the two modules solely in terms of ride quality and...
