I'm glad they made me one with the hot tune in map 1 vice 3. I'd of rather only received it as a single tune vice have to swap on the fly, no matter how easy it is. In that way, less would have been more (to me).
BTW, the old lady drove the car down to Jacksonville and back this morning and was...
Oh wow... we have NLS? That's pretty cool... I've never used it, though I've experiemented with some partial throttle shifting in the Z in the past with some fun results.
The weather outside is BS... but I'll have to give it a try when it's dry. Seems counter intuitive to keep the gas pinned...
There's a thread for tuner view... I think maybe Ktuner themselves started. The last I saw, the '18s still could not use it. While the hardware is the same, I thought there were software differences that prevented it from working. This is as of several weeks ago... so it may no longer be a...
I didn't realize it was that small and w/o the cord. That's a *huge* benefit for those who want to run it 24/7. The only drawback for the '18 crowd is that the tuner view stuff still doesn't work as I understand. For the '16-'17 crowd... there's practically no reason to own a V2.0 once you run...
I have a V2 and would be perfectly content to have a 1.2V. If you don't plan on keeping the device in the car, I'd say save $200 and go with the 1.2V. The only real advantage I see is being able to drive around and see some data in real-time... but since I do this only post-flash... and I could...
Yep. My filename had my KTuner's S/N with something like 'inverted' in it. I never tried swapping maps but I was reaching 24-25#s after 1st gear. Must have been the "hot one" in 1.
Stabs on the throttle for me just don't move K.cont... it takes a lot of sustained boost and getting IATs to rise...
Alright... I took the car for a spin... here's my take on it:
Post flash, K.control was at .59, which is generally what I've seen in the past... as I drive, it slowly settles back to .49 (minimum). I have been able to make it rise, though the peak I'd ever previously seen was it rising from .49...
Well, I put in my order, asking for the hot map to be in the tune 1 slot. Old lady went to get groceries.... I told her to drive it hard so whenever I get the file and flash it she can tell me what she thinks.
Thanks @D-RobIMW. I'll have my order in today and try and make a note during the order (if possible) to annotate the desired change. My e-mail address is the same as my username on here.
@D-RobIMW, do you think you'll offer a variant through Two Step that'll either be maps uncoupled by the OTF map swap, or at least where the "hot" map is tune 1 vice 3 and valet map 3 vice 1, so the most aggressive map is the default map on startup? I don't want to have a valet map on startup...
Yeah, I'm sure they would... or at least eventually after the initial rush of early adopter sales they're likely having. I missed the 64.99 to 79.99 bump (still a bargain... even when/if it goes to the crossed out 99.99) and it hadn't dawned on my about it being integral to a OTF map switch file...
Yeah, honestly... anything that requires extra actions to swap maps to the desired one after the car is started or requires me to leave the V2 hooked up 24/7 makes it a no-sell for me at this point. It's primarily my wife's DD and the idea of it starting with a weaker map than the modded 23#...
Pardon my ignorance, but can map 3 be loaded as a one only and not coupled together with all 3 as a switching on the fly map set? I actually have zero desire to have 3 maps rollings around in there and, as I understand, I'd have to keep my V2 plugged in all the time or it would default back to...
Yeah... a few months back before I ended up bumping up my ignition and doing some data logs myself... I e-mailed them and asked if I could just purchase a stage 1 tune a la carte, as I hadn't bought my V2 from them and didn't know of the deal back when I bought it from RV6 during the day after...
Good lord. I thought the CTR was fuel limited around 400 whp. Funny if they have roughly the same capacity for power based on their fuel systems... despite the Si and other trims getting the tiny engine with a tiny turbo and the CTR getting the best the K-series has to offer in FI. From a peak...
It seems like a double edged sword on that one. They're not using our existing cores... so that ~1700 is with you still keeping your turbos. I'd think it'd be closer to ~1k if one were to be taking the stock turbo and opening it up and changing out the CHRA, as was the Vit drop-in's intention...
Be advised... Vit's Stage tunes are locked to the car the tuner was sold to when the bundle was purchased. It's not like a basemap... and the locked nature of the Stage 1 map isn't just that you can't make adjustments. It's a 1 car only tune, to the benefit of the original buyer.
