It's not the car, it's the tires. (and history of cracking)Michelin actually has a statement that nothing to be done to them (including adding air etc) at past -7c. I live where -40c can happen in winter. $540 a piece plus installation. Every other car I've owned and stored, I've simply rolled...
I am part of the Wpg. cruise FB group. One person with same tires said (which is interesting)
"Pump the tires up to 50psi and place some interlocking mats underneath. Just drive on. The tires will sink in and leave the thread pattern indented. I have ps4s also but do it for all my cars."...
Home. My dad was a contractor and we built our current house with a double deep part where I had planned on having a storage area for a car; just took more years than I expected to get an R! From the front of the house it looks like a two car garage, but one side is twice as deep. only get to...
Got discussion going Sunday night cruise group in Winnipeg; guy suggested this :
Pump the tires up to 50psi and place some interlocking mats underneath. Just drive on. The tires will sink in and leave the thread pattern indented.
I have ps4s also but do it for all my cars.
me too. Cant buy the cheap ones, as they are too narrow for our tire width. looks to be almost 9" of contact. I think I will also pump the tires up to 45 or so. Should have thought about this sooner and looked for used on ebay or something. nows the wrong time of year to find a deal!
It sounds like you’ve done this before, but just to be sure : Don’t put the car up on jack stands. The suspension needs to stay loaded. Invest in tire FlatStoppers, to prevent flat spots. A trickle charger for the battery is a good idea too.?
OH, and why not on jack stands? then I could take...
Good points. Just checked. Build date is 05/24. I have always just rolled the car around a few feet every month or so. Never used Flat stoppers. However I've never had PS4+ tires.? I've read they can't move or anything past -7celcius, so I probably should get the flat stoppers. (if that's...
Just changed this thread up. #1 oil., #2 PS4S in really cold garage.
#1 I've read many threads about changing oil. Some say there is a break-in oil so don't change it til later. Others say change after break-in period. I"m about 2 weeks away from storing my R for about 6 months. I know 1yr...
Way off topic, but I just passed my 1000km break in period, and did an update to ownership on my Cool car Crap car YouTube channel.
One of the things I noted is that the auto sensing speed limit signs work well, except the little red line that appears on the dial speedometer sometimes (and I...
Just buy a high end mirrorless camera and prime lens and tape it onto your car so you can see the rainbow dials through the viewfinder! through it at the dials.. What could go wrong?
Here's are some images from my latest Type R video where I do a POV feature of a car photoshoot. The channel is called Cool Car Crap Car. I test cars (with my kids and friends to see if they're worthy to buy; sort a mashup of Doug Demero and Consumer report) See the angles, location, equipment...
Here is my Youtube video of my first week of Type R ownership. I started a car review channel called Cool Car Crap Car with my two kids last year. We test cars and then determine if they are cool or crap and worth buying. I usually have more reliability and comparison car information on my...
Ya, I started a car review channel with my two kids last year. The episodes are usually with another person but couldnt rope any of my kids into this one as they were both busy! I also have more reliability and comparison info on my episodes (+a dad joke..). Will get my son into one on the Type...
