  1. Sound Deadening Project

Really sorry to hear about your troubles. I truly hope your situation improves. Thank you for your contributions to the forum, I will be referencing your work with sound deadening at some point. Don’t forget to list your car in the classified section of the forums. Best of luck to you.
  2. Made a DIY downpipe install video

Great video. Also, your shop is so cozy! If it was mine, I’d want to curl up under my Type R with a cup of hot chocolate during a thunderstorm. ?
  3. J's Racing Hyper Intercooler

Just want to say that I appreciate your deep dives into all the parts you’re installing. One can’t have too much info.
  4. New to CTR - impressions log. What do I need to know?

I think a few members here have had a mechanical over-rev over 8k with no apparent problem, aside from possible damage to underwear.
  5. New to CTR - impressions log. What do I need to know?

Expect to hear a god awful scraping noise occasionally due to a rock being deposited between the front brake rotors and backing plates. Sometimes they free up quickly, other times I have to pull over somewhere that I can drive forward and reverse while turning the wheel back and forth until it...
  6. Jester’s Hondata thread

Literally the only sticker I would display on my car. And I haven’t even experienced the tune yet! Lol. That’s how much I appreciate Javier being such a great guy in the interactions I’ve had with him so far. Will these be for sale at some point?
  7. Possible Damage / Cylinder Wash down?? Cold start

Are you a fan of the TV show “Monk”?
  8. Possible Damage / Cylinder Wash down?? Cold start

OCD sucks, doesn’t it!? I'm currently obsessing about when to take my car out of storage. I'm hankering for a drive, but my area keeps getting mini snow storms and they keep salting the roads. As for your query, I definitely would not worry about it. I’m sure no damage was done, and it would...
  9. What did you do to your FL5 today?

I feel naked without my Paramilitary 2. I can’t stand having to waste time crossing the shop for a knife just to open a box or something. Really good knives for the price.
  10. FL5 Intercooler Reference Thread

This thread by Gambit has some intercooler info, including his DIY kit. https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/gambit-intercooler-kit-fl5.54571/#post-905539
  11. BRAND NEW 2025, possible oil seepage or assembly stain??

It’s probably a little oil spilled during assembly if you can’t see an obvious source. I would clean it off and keep an eye on the area for a while.
  12. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Don’t forget that Spyderco on the engine cover!
  13. J's Racing Hyper Intercooler

Probably a ripoff of this technology:
  14. J's Racing Hyper Intercooler

I'm on basically the same path at the moment. TSP downpipe, PRL intake, and Jester’s basemap awaiting installation once my car comes out of storage. I’m looking into intercoolers now because I remember how high IAT would get last summer. It seemed like anytime ambient temperatures were 75+, the...
  15. J's Racing Hyper Intercooler

Thanks for the writeup! Are you seeing any significant difference in IAT's?
  16. How do you keep your type R clean?

I hate washing my car! Luckily for me, I think SGP kinda looks better with a film of dirt on it. But after a couple of weeks I start feeling guilty and give her a bath. I do like a clean interior, however. I usually vacuum weekly.
  17. [PRL][High Volume Intake] Missing intake filter bolt

Shoutout to PLR for a great customer service experience. My HVI kit came with the short screws that people have had issues with. I emailed them on Tuesday for a set of replacements as per the instructions a few posts back in this thread. The correct screws showed up this morning! I’m very...
  18. Spying on you?

I received the same email and I haven’t yet removed my TCU. The battery has been disconnected for months because the car is in storage. Maybe that had the same effect if it’s not communicating with Honda, but more likely they just sent a mass email to Honda owners.
  19. [PRL][High Volume Intake] Missing intake filter bolt

Too funny! I just opened my HVI box and was starting to assemble the MAF housing/filter box and found the screws way too short. I did some measuring and thought 5m X 16mm was the best size. Looks like you guys are already aware of that! I will send an email for replacements.
