  1. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

Quick question: I don’t at all mind the stiffness of suspension. I’ve done the active damper cancellation by unplugging it and the turn-in and general responsiveness was significantly diminished—the car felt ā€˜limp.’ I like the general stiffness. The only real issue I have with the OEM FL5...
  2. Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

Old thread, I know. But I’ve had 2nd gear grind three times now—two accelerating with some wheel spin (once pulling out into traffic and didn’t see a car coming and had to hurry) and today with mild wheel spin on a wet road. Shifter buzzed in my hand—scared the crap out of me. I still suspect...
  3. 2023 Civic Type R Sets New FWD Track Record at Nürburgring!

It’s not at all a barrier to comparing the two. The math is simple. I’m just not smart enough to do simple math. : )
  4. 2023 Civic Type R Sets New FWD Track Record at Nürburgring!

I’ve tried to do the math but I suck at it. The FK8 finished in 7:43.8 while the FL5 did so in a longer 7:44.881. However, the track was recently lengthened from 20.6 km to 20.832 km on. My (bad) math says this is a 1.13% increase. In minutes, the FK8 finished the course in 436.8 mins while the...
  5. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

Update: I just tried this and am glad I did. I love the car and don’t mind the ride stiffness at all even in R mode. The issue for me is the way the front end hops/bounces so strongly I can’t see how it passed testing at Honda. Just terrible. (Reducing VSA reduces ~35% IMHO—could be placebo...
  6. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

To me, the stiffness even in R mode is fine. It’s the bounce under hard cornering that’s the problem.
  7. Recall: 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) Driver's Seat Cushion Frame Stop Sale (TSB Service Bulletin 23-030)

Awesome. And you’re very kind for doing this for everyone. Thank you.
