Here is the thing that kind of gets me. The Civic Sport Touring (which they produce a lot more of) did not lose any features, and the price rose only around 3%. The Si gained a 2000-dollar price increase with the loss of many features. Even with the things it gained it should have been...
I wonder where the shift knob in the original images before it was released in the US came from. It certainly looks a lot better than the one they have now.
Had they not increased the price over two thousand dollars while removing all that content it could probably be overlooked. But alas they did. For a car over 28000 USD with destination it should still have basic features like a temp gauge and heated seats that even the most bargain basement...
It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't still increased the price over two thousand dollars, but to take all the content out then still charge more than the fully loaded Canadian Version is just a slap in the face from American Honda.
I know, right. They increased the price by 2000 and then took away the adjustable dampers, heated seats, temp gauge, dual zone auto climate, fog lights, 5hp, etc. They added auto stop start which almost no one will use. Only real improvement is the rev matching. Seeing how the Canadians get so...
Losing all those features would have been easier to stomach if they hadn't increased the price so much. To increase by that much while stripping out so much makes no sense and is a slap in the face to US Honda customers.
10th Gen had a lot of differences too. In addition to the LEDs and Heated rear seats they had the touring infotainment with Navi and all for less money.
I know what you mean. I really hate that Honda limits the Sport Touring Hatch Manual to such boring colors. Why can't we have the boost blue....just why ?
I know right. With the significant price increase I can't imagine why we couldn't get that in the US Si. We don't even get a temp gauge, have to settle for a dash light that comes on if you overheat. It's just sad.
I know, right. I mean Canada has roughly the same population as California. Why is literally everything better equipped up there ? Hyundai does the same thing. Up there you could get their Elantra Sport Hatch fully loaded with the manual while our manual version was stripped down to basics.
A 10% power boost, the full digital display of the touring hatch so we at least could have a temp gauge. Lose the auto stop and start. Also if they are giving us the infotainment of the touring model why did they strip out Nav.
