Same re Tuxmats, had them since day one over a year ago and they have worked perfectly. You kind of forget you have red carpets, but they are also really well protected, so it's worth the trade off.
Honda Canada site seems to have been updated, at least partially. Product page now showing selling price of $53,244, with MSRP of $51,330 if my math is right. Same colour options (white, red, grey).
I agree re the port of Halifax not making any sense. If they came through Halifax it would mean the cars would be shipped via sea from Japan to Europe first, then to Canada? Or maybe across pacific, through the Panama Canal, and then up the east coast? And as others have noted, last fall cars...
Exactly, the FL5 was a reaction to the FK8 design wise - on the whole Honda walked back from their look on the early 2010s Civic, CRV, etc... to something more "rounded" and "mature" than the previous angular look they used. Acura likely had little budget for a full rethink of the Integra, so...
No going to lie, this is overall an interesting looking car and the "luxury" features - including heated seats and wheel, upgraded stereo - are tempting from an FL5 owner's perspective. However, I think the FL5 feels like a fully thought out design whereas the Type S feels like a "adaptation"...
Well, I am one of the lucky ones in Ontario that got a car in November and my VIN is in the single digits so I assume my car is affected. Funny enough I haven’t had the rattle issues. I thought there was a noise issue a month or so ago but turns out my plastic garage door opener clipped to my...
See my post in the Canadian FL5 thread: https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/canadian-dealer-asked-what-colour-type-r-i-want.51110/post-845062
For quick reference, I went with the following:
Enkei Raijins 18 x 8 +42, 5 x 120 CB 72.6 (Black Paint), with Continental IceContactXTRM 235/40R18...
This is such a bad look for these dealers. Plus whatever profit they make on one car could be outweighed by the risk of future allocations from Honda being pulled and the chance to build loyalty from more customers. I was lucky my dealer was fair and transparent about the deal.
Honestly I’m not 100% sure, but the type R has bigger stock wheels and brakes than the standard civic so I would think the size for winters would be different. These wheels were picked so they would clear the calipers and the tire size is only a 0.4% circumference difference from stock on the...
I've only driving the FL5 for 400km or so, but living in Ontario, Canada, we do enounter some terrible roads. On smooth roads it's no issue, even in Sport and +R, the car is great. On bumpy roads you certainly feel the bumps even in comfort. But the car doesn't float or bounce, like a lot of...
Winter Wheel Update - I got winter shoes put on today. If it's useful, here are the specs:
Wheels are Enkei Raijins 18 x 8 +42, 5 x 120 CB 72.6 (Black Paint), with Continental IceContactXTRM 235/40R18 tires. The shop I worked with first tried some Konig Hexaforms but they wouldn't clear the...
As an owner of a FL5, I am legally required to trash this car... but it looks pretty nice, lol. I will be jealous of the likely heated seats and ELS sound system, but I do think the Civic Hatch design is better resolved than the Integra. Anyway, this thing could be pushing $60k CDN (or more?) if...
I can echo Ministry. I am 6'4'' and I have lots of headroom up front. I admit I have not sat in back yet though, but I expect it's the same as the standard hatchback given the seats are basically the same (sans middle seat).
My VIN ends in a single digit (ie sub 10). Not sure how they assign plaques, but either way yeah it’s crazy early. Hopefully the A team was on the line that day. Haha.
Yeah, just north of the city. Been working with the dealer for a few years. Thanks or the comments above everyone, I agree that the white works really well on this car and I am stoked about the early build number.
Well ladies and gents, car #44 has made its way home and I feel very lucky. I have only driven it for an hour or so, so I will post more thoughts later on. Initial comments, in no particular order:
The shifter is as good as you think it will be, if not better. Miles better than my 2019 Accord...
