Modern unibody structures are so stiff already that they are really just bling parts. A lot of progress has been made since the 90's civics were out when you could actually feel some difference with these parts.

Yea FK8 pads will fit and work on the FL5 with no problem. Just be aware that any ceramic or basic street pad like that won't be as good as the stock pads. But if you are never seeing any track time and just street driving they will be ok and last longer / dust less. These are the FL5 and...

Did you try all the modes or +R? The integra only does it in 1 mode so maybe that was copied over too and not all the time.

Based on peoples comments I saw on CivicX, the 2020+ stock pad material does use DS2500 compound and that seemed to be the case after my track day with the stock setup. You may not need to swap or keep the old pads as backups. Id recommend getting a more aggressive pad than the DS2500 if you...
