So I wanted a better ride and did what most do and went down to 265/35/18 ps4s with te37sl 18x9.5 +45
immediately noticed the handling wasn’t as precise and the car felt a bit more bouncy. Tire noise was reduced and comfort was marginally increased. I put on the its ads unit, and the steering...
Appreciate that! It’s my road trip car. It’s just me and my 2 dogs, and I wanted something I could sleep in if necessary that wasn’t an suv that was also badass. I live in way south texas and have driven it to banff, Cali, pnw several times. It’s got 20k miles, 90% is road tripping.
I will say...
I have felt the same steering feel loss going to 18’s. I just received the its ads module so I’m gonna put it on and see how the car feels. But I think you’re right, the oem tires and the ads should be the sweet spot. Will probably have some te37 for sale soon lol
I also have noticed that with my 18 in 35 sidewall tires the turn in is negatively affected. Still handles great but that “lightness” at turn in is gone and I’m seriously considering going back to stock, installing the its ads, and selling the 18s.
This is what I’m concerned with when downsizing. I wonder if the ps4s would make a difference?
I have a set of te37s waiting to be put on the car but am wondering if a more compliant 19in tire on stock wheels is the way to go.
Where are the pieces available? From what I’ve seen only the right hand drive cf transmission cover is available, haven’t found it for North America.
I’m preparing this car for a 3 wk road trip from south texas into the smoky mountains and tail of the dragon. Getting my local sound shop to add in dynamat to the doors and hatch space, mounting 18in te37s, and hoping to get my hands on the integra ads module before my trip in late September...
Besides the improved sound, how much of a difference did the sound deadening on its own reduce overall nvh? I’ve been considering doing the same and am curious how much quieter the car would be for long road trips.
